You mentioned the short walkthrough several times. In IPSC it's indeed even more critical than in USPSA (where you can walk and video the stages before actually shooting the match) to use all available time after the walkthrough to do your visualisation, incl. airgunning to strengthen the plan into the subconscious mind. Thanks for sharing your match analysis! Very interesting.

That explains a lot. I always hear uspsa guys talk about visualise a stage 20 times. Walk the stages the day before, etc. In IPSC, if you have to start 1st or 2nd on a long course, you sometimes just found all the targets and have to start. It´s pretty hard for me to create a plan in that time.

Yeah there was instances where I had 5 or less visualization reps and had to just make it work. Actually a superb test of visualization and mental flexibility. I’ve moved toward trying to work with less in training and matches here as well in order to be ready for HGWS

@@masonlane2030 thats a good idea. Somehow it's a skill by itself in ipsc ;) if you figure out a good training tool/drill/method for it, you could do a video about it :)

5 minutes you are lucky this is a level 3 in IPSC. We shoot level 2 and the 24 to 32 hits stages are 4 minutes WT. Smaller stages are 3 minutes!

Yeah i wasn’t paying attention to specifically how long they gave us, just noticed it was less than I was used to lol
