I love collecting physical games because it means I *own* the game. But also because I can sell the game if I don't like it, or trade/share it with friends. I try to only buy digital if the game doesn't have a physical release (or will take a while to get a physical edition) or if the sale price is way better than physical.

I’ve had my switch since launch too, and over the years, I’ve started switching to a more and more digital library. Since I have chronic pain and take medicine for mental health issues, I have to visit the doctors fairly often, sometimes three times in one week 😨 the switch has been so so nice to take on the go for it. Even for running errands as well, it’s my constant companion. I used to take 1 physical game at a time, but I love being able to switch between games like suika, Wylde flowers, and the like without worrying about accidentally dropping my game case and losing them all. It’s also handy for if I’m playing in bed and don’t want to get up and change games when I’m bouncing between so many I want to play, or when the cats are snuggling with me, I don’t have to disturb them to switch games either. I’ve gotten less and less worried about things like the eshop, since I know they’re always going to be downloaded. I also keep my game consoles safe as best I can. They all stay in cases and in my bag until I want to play them when I’m out or at home. I still have my very first dsi from 2004 in working condition, like it hasn’t aged a day. But, I can definitely see an argument for physical games, it’s more reassurance you’ll have them no matter what, plus you can share them with others. I wish the switch had a library sharing feature like steam 😂

I have always prefered physical games. Must come from basically being born with a NES controller in my hand, then getting a Nintendo 64 for Christmas in 2nd grade. But I know that I can go pick up my DS at anytime and pop in physical game and it work. Should the console break I can get it repaired or buy another from a classic games store and not lose all my games because they are physical.

Same here. I reluctantly bout a Switch because I wanted to check out NSOExpansion Pak to revisit the multitude of classic games on that service. Bought a couple digital titles on sale and Nintendo taking away access to our digital Switch library will be the last straw for this company and me. When Xbox still allows me to play a digital game I bought over 15 years and three console generations ago on the latest hardware they set a bar that must be met.

For anyone that loves their switch but has an injury, illness, or disability that affects your fingers, hands, and/or arms. I use the pro controller with my switch undocked! I have thoracic outlet syndrome and sometimes it’s impossible to just hold my phone, much less my switch due to pain, weakness, and numbness. It can also be difficult to find a comfortable position to play, other than laying flat on my back in bed 😭 but I got a stand for my switch that clips onto the switch and holds it, it and can be anchored to any ledge (so a bedside tray, bed frame, table edge, desk edge). It has a long, sturdy, completely adjustable arm. I can adjust it to where I can lay flat on my back, with my switch hovering directly over me. Then I use a pro controller to play, arms completely rested and relaxed. Getting a setup that could be adjusted to my needs really changed my life. For a while, I really thought I could no longer play games. I’ve been a lifelong gamer, and gaming has always been a huge part of my identity and how I relax and decompress. I was really devastated to think I could no longer game comfortably. It might sound dramatic, but at the time I was discovering that there were many things that I loved that it seemed I could no longer do. Figuring out a way to make playing my switch work for me really gave me some hope 🥰❤️ Sending so much love and hugs to anyone having a difficult time doing the things they love doing.

I picked up my first Switch in year 2 of it's life cycle. Since then, I picked up the Pokémon Sword and Shield Switch Lite, white Joycon Switch OLED, the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet OLED, and around 125 games (physical and digital). I have never utilized a gaming system as much as I have the Switch. I believe the portability of it is why. I play at night in bed because of serious back issues, and the Switch screen doesn't keep my wife awake like the TV would. Not to mention the many, many, many fantastic games on the Switch. Can't wait to see what the next iteration of the Switch will be!

Physical collecting is awesome. As a kid I only ever got a new game for my birthday or Christmas so I never had much growing up. It gives me the ability own and fulfill the childhood dream of collecting all the favorites. Also what is not mention alot that happens to me is with so many digital games comes the selection fatigue of having to scroll down list to eventually either playing a game for a few seconds or none at all just from trying to figure out what to play. With physical they are in your face and i feel it helps to promote picking up games to play faster. Also they look nice either on a wall or layed out to look at. They are always a conversation starter when people come over and see the cases. You can easily lend or borrow games from a friend. Sharing is caring! It brings back the nostalgia of when the NES & SNES launched of inserting cartridges to the console to enjoy.

Harvestella does, in fact, have a physical release. I also loved the story I got in the demo and the price where I looked was really good so I've been contemplating getting it now since it's a price I'd want to give it a shot for
@reyaer3750
@reyaer3750 7 ай бұрын
I definitely recommend getting Harvestella! Especially if you like games like the Rune Factory series as well. There’s so much story, heart to heart interactions with the main cast, quests, and so much stuff to do and work on! Sometimes it goes on sale for $30 digitally, but if you can find it for cheaper elsewhere or prefer physical games, then go for it ☺️ it’s about 50-100 hours long to play through depending on how much of a completionist you are so it’s a pretty big game too. If you do get it I hope you have fun with it!
@ammalyrical5646
@ammalyrical5646 7 ай бұрын
@reyaer3750 that sale price is closer to the price I'd pay for the physical game. I was not very impressed by the gameplay in the demo and not really into farming games at the time, so I waited. I'm glad I did that because I'll now can get a switch cartridge for about half the money it costs on steam. A very rare occurrence
@reyaer3750
@reyaer3750 7 ай бұрын
@@ammalyrical5646Ooh, interesting you’re able to get it for a lot cheaper! Especially with $30 being close to you buying the physical full priced game. I will say that the beginning is definitely pretty slow and starts you off in a very basic state. It starts getting better when you unlock more things with classes and can freely switch between a few mid battle to synergize skills. That said it’s still not too complex combat wise. It’s a plus for me, but it may not be for you. I grew up playing the Rune Factory games, so I’m used to the blend of farming and rpg, it’s not something I find often, but I love being able to turn around and work on something else if I don’t want to work on the story, and vice versa. That’s where I think the game has its strong suits

As a pretty intense pokemon fan, the reason why people don't like the let's go games or bdsp is because let's go is meant for beginner pokemon players (the pokemon go catching mechanics and the game is also just pretty hand holdy), and bdsp is a TRUE remake of diamond and pearl and we wanted more content in the games, like what platinum added. I think they're both fun cozy games and I actually recommend them to people who don't know a lot about pokemon or haven't played a pokemon game before, but yeah that's why pokemon fans don't love them!

I’ve been struggling a lot to decide if I should go physical or digital with my games. There’s been so much happening with digital games and media getting pulled out of stores, and the uncertainty of keeping your digital collection once the estore isnt around. What if my switch dies when that happens? I won’t be able to redownload my games! On the other hand, I live in a country where games are expensive to import and they get taxed at customs. And limited run physicals are crazy expensive in the aftermarket if you don’t snap them up before they sell out. Digitals go on sale much more often, and usually at really really low prices. So yeah, do I choose to play much less games with physicals, or do I risk losing my digital games (but enjoy a wider library before then)? A dilemma for gamers on a budget 😭

That’s actually very sensible advice, truly, but a part of me (the collector part of me) knows that if I start going down this physical rabbit hole, it’ll be so much harder to stop at just my absolute favorites. As amazing as Forgotten Land is (it's easily one of my all-time favorites on Switch), I actually prefer Return to Dream Land Deluxe, but that's mainly because the original game has always been my all-time favorite Kirby game and all the stuff they added on top of it really pushed it over the edge for me. The fact that it has no online multiplayer or an option to remove the character outline is stupid as hell though.

I just prefer the level of charm of picking a game up you're looking forward too be it with your friends or by yourself and being able to see it in your hands. Some highlights I own are the Collectors Editions of: Atelier Sophie 2, Atelier Ryza 3, Blue Reflection Second Light (which I think is better then Persona 5 Royal), Crystar, Rune Factory 5 and I've the one for Unicorn Overlord on pre-order. In terms of rare games that are Standard editions I have Nights Of Azure 2, all 3 Clannad games, Fatal Twelve, Seabed, Food Girls 1 and 2 (the only way to play these on Switch is via importing the physical), Mary Skelter 2 and for Australia at least Disco Elysium Final Cut. I only enjoy playing lego games (Lego batman all the way) when I play it together with my sister. It gets kind of repetitive so it is nice to share the controller but still being able to move forward. It is such a struggle to hunt for physical games. I decided that I want death's door and disco elysium on switch, but the online stores in Denmark decided to not have disco elysium anymore and not have a date for when death's door is available to buy again. FOMO kicks in hard when you are "behind" with your physical collection. Harvestella does have a physical, it is available in Denmark, so It should be possible to find in other European countries.

My favorite KZbin game lady, it’s been a while since I could comment but I wanted to say thank you so much for your content. I love your brand of chaos on the lives and your videos are my favorite. To the question of collecting physical games, I just am not thrilled that physical media is slowly going away. I get the convenience of digital or cloud games but I don’t like not owning them. I have old dvds of some movies I can’t find unless you’re on a specific streaming service, and I’m glad I have them so I don’t have to invest in another subscription service. Long story too long, I like that I own my physical games and I’m curious to see what happens to my digital library over time. I have a 3DS also so that eshop closure really informed my purchasing now.

I am very suprised you dont have (unless i missed your mention of it) "Life is Strange: True Colors" with dlc?? Phys copy is still available! Xenoblade 3 and Definitve are my Oled. Nice fun interesting game choices! I am really thrilled to know your entire family has a Nintendo Switch! Animal Crossing New Horizons is big flop with me and my son , to whom i gave my fully loaded v2 Switch to. We cant even invite each other to explore even further in New Horizons nor others! So Minecraft Realms etc is our usual multiplayer capability!

Hi, love your channel and great collection! I too am making my switch over to physical games. Have you ever played Little dragon cafe? It seems right up your alley and it is a lot of fun. You have to raise a dragon while running a cafe. You will eventually get to ride that dragon too... Mind you it is a bit slow paced but I am enjoying it so far. It is on sale in the eshop for 17.99(USD) until 2/26. I highly recommend!

Regarding physical vs digital. I think I would have traded my switch for a steam deck a long time ago if it wasn't for physical games. I really hope the switch 2 won't ditch physical, I actually think I probably won't even get a switch 2 if it doesn't allow for physical games.

Hello, I'm looking for a Pikachu game and was wondering what you recommend? I like mystery and was leaning toward detective Pikachu. I've also never played any Pokémon games. Or if you think those games are to difficult I'd like a fun, relaxing game if you recommend any. You can even give me a list up to you. Thank you!

I don’t recommend detective pikachu sadly. It basically walks you through every puzzle and is overpriced imo

Do you have any Steam specific cozy games you recommend? I know a lot of your videos are related to the Nintendo switch but didn't know if there were games you could only play on Steam since for certain games you prefer the Steam Deck over the Switch

Hello, I am so glad I found your channel at the end of last year. I would definitely would watch you browse around a game store and see what you can find. I live in the US and Gamestop is probably the biggest game store left around but half of the store is now just videogame merchandise. I really like having physical copies of games and just got into getting them digital. You can trade in or sell the physical and also can share with friends/family. For the DS it was about having space on the system. A bunch of games you have recommended are now on my list to get. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is high on there as many people have loved it. I just recently bought Persona 5 Royal preowned and it was $24, much cheaper than from Eshop or PC. I just started it and like it so far; it is my first Persona game. I also picked up Octopath Traveler 2 and Fire Emblem 3 Houses. I love RPGs and games with a good story. Also, Lego Games can be quite fun. I would suggest the Lego Batman series and if you're into Harry Potter I've played those ones on multiple platforms.
