3:59 The most obvious sign that the image is doctored, of course, is that grasshoppers simply don't get that big. The average grasshopper is only an inch or two long. Even the giant weta, a larger insect that resembles a grasshopper, only weighs about as much as a gerbil and grows to about four inches long. Moreover, if the image were real, the grasshopper would cast a shadow on the man's pants and on the ground, in the same direction as the man's shadow.

As wrong as anyone could get that... From Wikipedia: Academic fencing (German: akademisches Fechten) or Mensur is the traditional kind of fencing practiced by some student corporations (Studentenverbindungen) in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Latvia, Estonia, and, to a minor extent, in Belgium, Lithuania, and Poland. The scar resulting from a hit is called a "smite" (German: Schmiss), and was seen as a badge of honour, especially in the second half of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th.

the torture device was not for talking it was to torture enemies. They used what was called a scolds bridle for women who talked to much. It functioned to silence the wearer from speaking entirely, to prevent the women from nagging. No reason to poke there eyes out either The scold's bridle was used on women.[3] This prevented speaking and resulted in many unpleasant side effects for the wearer, including excessive salivation and fatigue in the mouth. Uploader please do a better job because your making stuff up here.

that grasshopper photo is FAKE Did a Man in Montana Catch a Three-Foot Long Grasshopper? The most obvious sign that the image is doctored, of course, is that grasshoppers simply don't get that big. The average grasshopper is only an inch or two long. Even the giant weta, a larger insect that resembles a grasshopper, only weighs about as much as a gerbil and grows to about four inches long. Moreover, if the image were real, the grasshopper would cast a shadow on the man's pants and on the ground, in the same direction as the man's shadow. they made different versions of these at the time.. When a swarm of grasshoppers descended on Garden City in 1935, Frank D. "Pop" Conard had a vision. The photographer made a montage of giant insects with humans and sold the postcards like "hotcakes."
