To be fair Rory you had a very good race. The fuel saving killed you, but you kept it out of the walls and drove a sensible race trying to slurp your way to a good finish which you did. Keep it up bud.

Definitely, to the point I think that almost would make sense to go full throttle and have made 3 stops. But on the heat of the moment, Rory did what seemed best.

Awh mate....1st of all, the video, wicked. The editing is excellent, really adds that extra dynamic to the video, I can only imagine how long it took. 2nd, it looked like you had a very good race, that must have been extremely tough doing the fuel saving and trying to race and trying to talk at the same time. Props to you sir.

The town lights of Bathurst at twilight looks so authentically Australian. That flat pan, like Adelaide viewed from the hills, and the flora, makes me pretty nostalgic. What great visuals this game has, to bring on those feelings. Well raced, Rory. Tough gig, but credit for maintaining discipline. Every race is a learner.

saw you overtake stteve in his livestream! it was his second race, his final race was his best but he also crashed on lap 26 in 3rd, and got 5th due to heavy damage, IT WAS A THRILL TO WATCH!

Fantastic race well done pushing yourself. I had to do this race on controller and my god my hands hurt. Had to pit 3 times but luckily, I had a gap to fill the tank a little for the final lap. 3rd place overall.

I’m in GT3 and we only had to go 16 laps. I was leading by w seconds going down the Conroe Straight on lap 16, but carried a little too much speed into turn 21 and went into the grass. I ended up in third!

Awesome video mate, seriously using the Viper for that race was like having an arm tied behind your back and dragging a stone. Most if not all the other cars could do 10 laps with no fuel saving...

I think in the first stint, the first half of it you wasn't short shifting and that compromised you for the rest of the race. You needed to do 10/9/9 lap stints. But doesn't help you were in the viper. I was in the Lexus so I was very lucky

Quick question, while fuel saving, why didn't you adjust your engine map in the 2nd stint to 3, 4 or 5?

Well, it's dinner time. I know what to spend my time watching. (edit): That was a tough one, Rory. I personally skipped Mt. Panorama so I could focus on Nurburgring. Way to tough it out to the end with the disadvantage.

I think changing the fuel mix to 5 or 6 going down the mountain helps save a little more gas! It was great race after all! Great driving! Cheers

Sometimes it seems better to watch the fuel in % instead of the laps remaining. It is particularly useful when doing stints of ten laps. The consumption per lap should not exceed 10% which was already the case from the beginning of your second and third stint. Then you can be certain, you'll have enough fuel for ten laps at your current pace.

You did great Rory, the viper was not a great car so that makes it much more difficult for you. But this was a great race and you should be proud that you held it together for so long. Next time if you go for lexus or toyota or any of the better cars then it will be much easier for you to get a better place.

Yeah, I watched Steve (Super GT) live and he had a hard time as well. Too many mistakes. In his last race he had a guaranteed 2nd until he hit the wall and got heavy damage which forced him back to 5th.

I 100% can tell just within the first couple laps that if there was transmission damage your money shifts would put you out of the race, lol

Excessive tyre wear and fuel consumption, this is why you don't see American cars in the World Finalist Events. They don't even have the supercharger equipped, which is the typical excuse for excessive fuel use, even though cold air burns fuel more efficiently than hot air. These anti-lag turbos just keep hot air in the system, so they really should be using more fuel than non-asperated, not supercharger equipped, cars. The tyre wear on the C7 doesn't even reflect that the transmission is moved to the rear axle, which gives the car a near perfect 50/50 weight distribution.

Agreed. GT has never favored American muscle. But in all fairness the Viper never did well in the real world of racing either. One of my least favorite cars in all the GT games. I really don’t know why Rory likes using it.

@@powertothesheeple5422 yeah, the Viper never really did that well overall, just like the Lexus in-game right now had never done this well in the real world. And, nevermind that there's no real GT3 Supra running anywhere, or Genesis, they paid to have a great car and PD delivered.

Honestly you're shifting into lower gears than needed and not shifting early enough with the viper. Sitting to long in the higher revs wastes fuel and doesn't offer more power, shifting around the half to 3/4 mark on the Rev limit is ideal

Can’t see 3 big signings coming in, whoever the manager is... FSG don’t spend that sort of money. And looking beyond the next year, someone who can replace Mo is much more important than another forward who plays in the middle.

Couldn’t you figure out what your ideal lap time would be, then your average lap time fuel saving and see if the difference in time would be less or more time than another fuel stop? I mean I know you gotta run the race before you know any of this but it’s really just math right?

This race demonstrates why I gave up on this game, rain and night races were supposed to be a big part of the game and yet barely feature at all in daily races, PD instead of adding more cars and tracks should concentrate on adding trackside lighting and rain to existing tracks.

Fuel saving kills races and makes it boring to the spectators since drivers aren't overtaking, and that drivers are not pushing the car to the limits. All they do is drive round the course not racing!
