I really liked the in depth analysis and comparisons. Also that first render of the car is awesome! You should do the masterclass you were talking about

Glad you liked the video ! Planning the masterclass, will probably make a first one regarding architecture to see the feedback before sharing the car masterclass since it will be quite advanced.

I love Blender, I've been using it for years but quite recently I started using Unreal Engine (not to make games) for video rendering. My problem with UE 5, it requires a lot more working time because it is so complicated when you are a beginner. I hope Eevee-Next could be my solution. Thank you for this comparison.
@AlternaVisionStudio6 ай бұрын
Glad you found it useful, i have used UE5 in the past but like you mentioned definitely a steep learning curve in comparison but easy enough if you follow through documentations, in my case i use Vray and vantage instead, UE5 is usually overkill for my use since i mostly do architecture which vantage excels at. For environments, world building and automotive UE5 is the best tool for real time rendering.

Eevee next isnt even close to an alternative to unreal. It uses screen space effects and the minute you want to render video its going to go to hell.

Hello Sir. 1st of all thank you alot for your useful information ❤. I been think of learn Unreal 5 for rendering but somehow , I see this is very cool. I have question plz, when I use blender, I keep cycle on cuz he helps me alot of showing what it would looks like but when changing to Evee next things get trouble. Should I make it Evee next since the beginning of the project or what is your solution or recommendation?
@AlternaVisionStudio3 ай бұрын
Unreal engine 5 is definitely useful, and knowing both blender and unreal is great so i recommend also learning UE. As to what concerns your question, it would be smart to keep in mind that the end goal would be using eevee next when making the scene, and in that case just use it as a preview for lookdev.

@@AlternaVisionStudio Wow, the world is really small :) I am really pleased that you know me and that you have followed my work in the past. It is truly a great honor for me! You remember correctly, I started using Lightwave more than 10 years ago, then, even though I loved that software a lot, I switched to Blender in 2017 and it was love at first sight. Since then, apart from the first year of transition where I used both, from 2018 I have been using only Blender and I am really in love with this program. I take this opportunity to tell you that I have also started following you here on KZbin because I found your videos/tutorials really well done and detailed. Your content is a really useful and important resource for the Blender community. I take this opportunity to thank you again for everything and for the nice words you used towards me, I completely reciprocate them :) Thank you very much. I really follow you with pleasure :) Please forgive me about my poor english :) Cheers from Italy :) have a great day

Great comparisons, thanks. My RTX 3090 works just as hard (temp wise) in viewport rendering with Eevee-Next than it does with Cycles, so I just don't bother using Eevee-Next. Also, Eevee-Next takes forever to load any major changes, especially the initial time it loads a scene.
@AlternaVisionStudio6 ай бұрын
Yes i did notice that frequently, honestly with how fast cycle is in certain scenes using eevee is absurd for stills, my use case would probably be for lookdev or very niche cases for animations.
@btn2376 ай бұрын
The time savings on Eevee for animations are astronomical, and that’s a main use case. Very often I can achieve almost realtime speeds of well under 1s per frame, I often have to render out animations of up to 27,000 frames in length, so any slight saving per frame reduces total render time greatly. Achieving similar with Cycles is difficult or impossible by comparison.
@AlternaVisionStudio6 ай бұрын
@btn237 exactly, this is why i did not focus on comparing them with cycle, only to show how accurate they are. Both can't be compared since they are totally dofferent engines, one is realtime and the other one is a true path tracer, both are valid depending on what you need.

I have a huuuge scene that i wanna render with evee next , and the Global Ilumniation is not lighting the enviorment bright enough to being able to see it properly ( it ried to increse light powers but that didnt make a very good scene either , i think the gi in evee next lacks an adjuster for how much global ilumantion is strong , somthing like. Athickness or strenght value or somthin , liek the ssgi addon had for blender 3.2
@AlternaVisionStudio4 ай бұрын
Every solution has it's limitation, you could definitely use eevee next for your scene but it really just depends on your needs, depending on the actual scene sometimes cycle can be faster and more stable.
@aliosanlou44254 ай бұрын
@AlternaVisionStudio Yes exactly , sometimes when u compare the overall quality and render time between EVNext & Cycles , the cycles has the edge
@AlternaVisionStudio4 ай бұрын
@@aliosanlou4425 Definitely agree, eevee for me is mostly to render things such as motion graphics, fog heavy scenes since it handles volumes nicely or really long animations. But otherwise cycle is the way to go, no scene had taken more than 1 hour to render on my computer, so spending time on optimizing eevee and making it look like cycle seems like a waste of time. Cycle is fast, stable and realistic.
@aliosanlou44254 ай бұрын
@AlternaVisionStudio lets be hopefull that soon enough blender improve EVEE in a way that its as realistic and optimized as UE5 Engine
@AlternaVisionStudio4 ай бұрын
I am sure it will get there in terms of realism, but it does not even have to compete with Unreal engine 5, both are way too different they don't even effect each other in terms of userbase.

@letomaneteo yes it is quite instable. For my daily work, i usually use 3.6 as well. Keep in mind its a beta and quite immature, will get better soon for sure.

@AlternaVisionStudio6 ай бұрын
Cycle definitely could, especially with the new light linking features but is usually slightly trickier to do in comparison with Corona or Vray. I personally had gotten very close with cycle but i often time prefer to just use corona or vray, if i am to do car animations blender is definitely the best choice as it's super fast and animating inside of it is nicer.

@@Dilligff Now Blender is no better than Unreal. Of course, only for those who do not know how to use it well. Here, it is appropriate to understand programming at least at Bluepirnt level. The comparison is completely unnecessary, since unreal is a game engine with 10,000x more options than Blender can ever offer. The two software are in a completely different league...
@Dilligff6 ай бұрын
@@molnargyula4961 Not precisely sure what point you're getting at. I'm just saying Unreal has far more resources available to them (even to the point of throwing some of them Blender's way) that they'll stay ahead of the curve in the real time rendering department. Blender, however, is fundamentally designed to do things the Unreal Engine cannot. I don't really see them as 'competing' softwares since many use them in tandem with each other. Blender stripped out the 'game code' and focused more on creative tools, while Unreal focused on the game engine and real time rendering but only has rudimentary creation tools for primitive knockups. The only overlap here lies in rendered animations and each has their strengths and weaknesses so it'll be project dependent which one makes sense to use.
@w1-w2-w36 ай бұрын
@@molnargyula4961 I have no idea why you are saying UE has 10000x more options than Blender. Even Game developer myself surprised by your claims. Did you ever try the full potential of Blender and all of that features? UE and Unity comparison will be makes more sense. I don't know what kind of things you are comparing but I will say Blender has over 1,000,000x more options than UE can ever offer. Since all of those UE, Unity, Blender support scripting, everything can be possible. Don't worship the tools too much. Just kidding. LOL
