On full throttle its very loud and I recommend wearing ear protection.

There is some noise from the wood chopping when the machine is running, but it is much more useful than a lawn mower. Not only can it handle branches that have fallen in the yard due to storms, the wood chips it produces can serve as nutrient mulch and help you deal with weeds. I have an efcut wood chipper, and I recommend.
