I live in Europe, and the best fit for me was to buy through a European small business, and that's what I did, even if I had to pay a little more, it wasn't a huge difference, like 15% more of the value in the official web page. Ultimately, It felt right because I could support the small stores in my area.

Tori, I have to say finding and watching your video a few weeks ago reminded me why I initially loved the Hobonichi Cousin when I found it in 2020. It was for me the ability to be personalized, practical, and creative all in one space. I prefer to have just one book for nearly everything: planning/memory collection. I also don't use any stickers, so it's really just my joy of fountain pens and some watercolors that make it seem like it's my own book. It helped me with practical planning, helped me figure out health issues with the logging/journal, kept some watercolor sketches, and memories. But in 2022 I didn't always have something every day in the daily section, so I wondered about trying something with undated daily but still had weekly for overview. I moved/tried other planners looking to see if something better was out there that would give me more freedom to have undated daily, but I actually like a little something on the pages already and found I rarely use or enjoy those undated pages. After seeing that you do not use your daily pages as they are dated I got out a white posca maker and took out the dates on the days I didn't want them... it has been such a great feeling to be back in a simple one-book system that's personalized and practical for me. And even though there are such lovely small business creators who have "improved" or changed the Hobonichi system, I just find myself preferring the simple cream cover Hobonichi. Thanks for all the great ideas!

That pencil board is adorable! And I totally relate to needing an emotional support book! Planner hopping seems to be helpful for some people if they need a change, but I try to stick to what works, be consistent with it and only change if/when it stops working.

I also stopped trying after a little while and went to bed. The next morning I woke up and saw the message they posted about it being solved and I was able to buy everything I wanted without any issues. I even took time to make myself a cup of coffee and a sandwich for breakfast before sitting down and ordering on my iPad.

Great video, I haven’t ordered from Hononichi yet, I want to take my time & be intentional about what I choose to order instead of rushing it, Its only September.! Im not stressing this year.! I have found ordering a clear cover for my A5 Cousin from Midori (amazon) works Awesome. Fits perfect, less expensive, Less bulk, U can decorate with stickers on the Hobonichi or leave it as clean, pristine as we get them. I have bought so many covers thru the years, If I want a cover on it thru the year, I can pick from my stash.! Happy planning.!!

Thanks for a lovely video and what a wonderful little haul! I'm also awaiting a Stappo directly from Hobonichi and I'm excited to move the contents of the 4 pencil cases I'm always lugging around into it. 😅 I completely agree about planner hopping. As a person with ADHD I need a little change every now and then. The novelty keeps me interested and makes it work for me. That said I don't necessarily need to planner hop to get that "new" feel, a few new pens, new stickers, etc. can often do the trick. I know myself well enough that if I'm planner hopping TOO often it means I'm spiraling and about to quit it all together (for a while at least). 🙈 Life and circumstances change and so do our planner and organizing needs. So hop when you need to, IMO. 😊 For many it's also a creative outlet and we shouldn't really let that be dictated by what other people think.

Then when i found out it was resolved in the morning I got the black stappo, an avec, the cat and dog stamps and some notebooks. And i just stole your idea of reusing the atlas stationers sticker off the box 😮

I LOVE the analogy about planner hopping/forms of exercise. We so rarely stick with 100% the same thing all the time in other hobbies, so why should we limit our journalling/planning habit in that way?! And loved to see your haul - the 2025 leaflet really is something else though lol

I use an A6 for planning and I bought a HON this year and it is SO gorgeous I love it, but I keep my planner in my pocket and I feel like the HON is going to inhibit that so I am a little disappointed. That said I used to be a Cousin user and it is so nice to have so much space

@@torionpaper I got the Navy Slash and I have to say it exceeded my expectations. It is so sturdy and nice and I prefer the plastic feel of the cover to the material feel that a lot of the Hoobonichi weeks covers have. I am hoping to make it work as my every day planner but if I can't really get it to work in my pockets I might go with an Avec (sad b/c it doesnt come in English) or maybe even an English A6 but at least with the cardstock cover it might be better as a pocket planner
