Last year when building my connections in politics (still am), I got talking with a candidate and offered to take them for a dinner. He ended up introducing me to higher ups and MPs in the party. Take them for dinner lol, it's an investment!

Out of interest, what did you talk about over dinner?
@yahayaalphonse25583 жыл бұрын
@@jaderose9668 I actually just spoke politics. We already had a mutual interest, since we met for politics, we spoke on that. I did not need to go into life details cause I wanted a professional relationship first, not a buddy. Eventually got there and he introduced me to his mother-in-law lol. Hope that helps.

Thank you for clarifying that we should do our research on a mentor before meeting them! I always feel so weird “stalking” people on LinkedIn before I meet them and try not too say anything about their past experiences so I don’t seem creepy lmao also I swear every video you’ve made in the past couple weeks has been so applicable to my life!!!
@xoReni4 жыл бұрын
Haha there is definitely a balance needed because you don’t want to come off too creepy! But finding similarities that you can bring up in conversation is so so helpful! Thank you girl, I’m so glad the videos are helpful 🙌🏾 If there is anything else you want to see please let me know!

Reni , I'm a guy that's still trying to find my feet and get into the Film industry and it's been advised to have a mentor for guidance and to learn from them. Ive approached a lot of them and faced rejection. This is some valuable guidance on the way I should approach a mentor. Thank you :)

xoReni I love this information you are sharing it doesn't only apply to your age group, but all age group who are interested to improve on they self-growth, the information is well accepted. However; where do you fine mentors? Ones that are legitimate, affordable if there is a cost to it , and will get you to develop effectively in what you are getting mentorship in. I will love to hear your answer to these questions. Thank you and as usual great video

Thanks for commenting Desiree! I find mentors by reaching out to people I admire using LinkedIn, getting an introduction from a mutual friend or joining different mentorship groups. Black Professional in Tech Network and the Canadian Association of Urban Financial Professionals both have mentorship programs to join.
