Effective Velocity Look at Valdez vs Snell

This video describes Effective Velocity 'Crossover' pitches which are pitches that crossover from their ideal speed to a speed that helps the hitter react easier. Off speed moving in or up in the zone adds speed and fastballs moving down and/or away lose 'effective' speed due to the reach of the hitter. Snell won the Cy Young a couple of years ago when he severely limited the 'Ev Crossover' pitches, highlighted in the video. Also we'll look at Frambert Valdez' approach as he battles in game 1.
