I made an error with this video...The bullet weight is actually 129 Grain instead of 120 Grains..More specific "Hornady 129 Gr American Whitetail" if you're looking for this specific round....Thank you to a viewer for pointing that out in a respectful manner..Happy Hunting!

50 Stitches Steel , the 140gr. more than likely disintegrated & turned into LITTLE pieces that look like course ground blk. pepper, they are known for that lucky you got enough penetration to kill that deer... By the way where (state) was that buck shot??? it has a good size body compared to the deer we have in Florida......

129 grain American whitetail not "hunter" and it's a 143grain eld-x not 140, unless it was a 140 eld-m. Nit picky yes but if you're doing videos to help people find ammo get information correct my friend

@AP-zw6ql6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for explaining the reason for the "messy" shot. I've been thinking about using the American Whitetail but your video initially concerned me. I thought the mess might have been caused by the bullet breaking apart and "shotgunning" inside the deer. Seeing that it was just shot placement and the round held together put me at ease.
@Chase_H4 жыл бұрын
American Whitetail is a great round I shoot it some in a 30-06 and 7mm 08 and the deer rarely move on either one. I got Winchester Deer Seasons for my 6.5 but I think it'll do just as good of a job because I've used them in other guns before

I’d like to see the weight retention of that bullet.
@50StichesSteel3 жыл бұрын
I don't have a more precise scale to give exact weight but it's sitting at 7 grams with it flickering to 8 grams depending on how it sat on my letter scale. That's roughly about 120-123 grains. So mostly intact with probably just a few shards of copper jacket missing.

Ethical shot is a quick kill..The deer died in 5 seconds. Dropped in its tracks...How is that not ethical?
@rmrider924 жыл бұрын
An ethical shot would be a shot where you know where the bullet is going to impact and make a quick kill, if you accidentally lodged a bullet in the hip of an animal it wasn’t an ethical shot. Even if you got lucky and took out one lung and punched a hole in the diaphragm it would expire in 5 seconds.. it was a lucky shot that anchored it and When entrails are involved it spoils a lot of meat very quickly

@50StichesSteel6 жыл бұрын
None of the meat was spoiled, but I did ruin the tender loins just because the angle and path of the bullet. I recommend a match bullet for full penetration and a cleaner meat if that's what your after. It gave me a blink of an eye kill with good shot placement. The lead tip hunting rounds did more damage but it wasn't necessary to take a whitetail

50 Stitches Steel people against hunting should go see how cows are harvested or Lamb. They won’t because they are true cowards. I think you know I despise how soft our people have become. Eating an animal you killed gives you a connection to it that you can’t get from meat and sawdust burger from McDonald’s. We are designed to eat meat, we have canine teeth for that sole purpose. 2 out of 3 meals I eat a day are with some type of meat. Plants are for fat chicks trying to be skinny.

Usually they're called damage tags for dear causing damage to people's property; and so hunters are given a limited amount of tags to go take out the deer. They can spotlight and do other things like shoot before sun up. It's a common practice, and in many places it is absolutely legal.

6.5 creedmoor really is no different in killing effectiveness, any good bullet design for its game your hunting placed where intended will do it in. When shooting long distance there are so many that still will outdo 6.5 , there are loads now and bullets being made to make longer shots. 6.5 is ok but check out 7mm mag ballistics ,300 win, even 270 win, yes they burn more powder but their bigger diameter and that’s needed to go the distance.
@50StichesSteel6 жыл бұрын
I like the distance and tame recoil of 6.5 for follow up shots if needed. I dont do extreme distance hunting so this is plenty for any game in north america
@allandavis68216 жыл бұрын
Yeah you right , I don’t do extreme either, furthest and only shot I made was about 440 on a deer(25 06) I really like it and in reality it’s really a 6.53, when I purchased it I didn’t realize that it is easy on the recoil and does real good for me
