Efficiency 101 - How to MAX in under 300 hours

I used this method choosing strategy in my Minimal Maxing series to get a max time of 255 hours without spending $$$ on MTX.
I used a valuation of 80m/hr for that account to pick the method.

I actually did diamonds to 99. I think dragonstones were around 13k each at the time so it was far more expensive.

@@Thebt7 you can alc noted things whilst woodcutting w/o interrupting the woodcutting if you wait for the woodcutting animation to start again between alcs, also Waswere was using portable crafters at the wildy safes in his minimal maxing series

The more afkable a method is, the higher it's efficiency is as long as you spend your afk time doing something productive elsewhere. At work, or doing other things that are important to you. If you spend 100 nearly fully active hours doing some method to get to 200 mil, the afk version may only require 5 active hours over a longer period of time. Woodcutting for example, only requires ~20 or so active hours of play time to get to 200 mil. this might be over months, but you only spend a few seconds every few minutes, while using that time to do something more productive elsewhere. Just my take.

The fallacy that usually bubbles up from this concept is that a high enough gp/hr to make this valid generally means PVM, unless you get pretty lucky with a processing/gathering method that hasn't been beaten down to the ground already or go hard with a ton of alts. That means a newer player trying to max not only would need to learn and hone their PVM skills (time), get gp for good enough gear to use (time) but also the RNG nature of PVM (you can spend 10 hours at a low-mid level boss and get no drops, and only make 2m/hr in basics). I agree with this concept for players who already have PVM gear, already know how to boss well, get lucky with RNG, and just want to finish off their account to max. Otherwise the timesink and randomness of PVM balances the scales.

There are many low requirement money making methods that get in the 3-5m/hr range and can be used as what you value your time at and then use that in the calculation. What you said is very much the reason why I said efficiency changes with the person. You use the same concepts whether you value your time at 2m/hr or 20m/hr. The thing that changes is whats the most efficient method because your time is valued differently

The thing I don't understand is, archaeology alone is over 150 hours to 99 at the maximum amount of XP/hour possible. How could you possibly get all 99s in under 300 hours? Right now I'm at 95 arch, 95 RC and 91 WC, with everything else but agility at 99+ (and agility I'll get from silverhawks). And using the fastest possible XP method, I'm still looking at I estimate ~60-70 hours.

For me i had found a unique way to make money, it pretty much turned into pandoras box and suddenly i can make 100m+ an hour and this also made it possible for me to make a ton of money from TH keys as well. When most people make less money from treasure hunter i can make like a bil from 450 keys. I am not trying to be efficient, but i did find creative ways to make profit in this game :o

@@Xepent Nope, i had found it by random luck. I stopped playing tho, cuz the easy money made it more boring and new gear and items became more niche and tedious and convoluted to use unless you were into sweaty full manual gameplay which i dont like. Having all that money was worthless if i had nothing interesting to buy so i jumped to Genshin impact instead.

@@Xepent I doubt it is the most predatory, have you seen Diablo immortal? Genshins looks fair and balanced compared to that. Genshin gacha system is not amazibg by any stretch but at least you are guaranteed to get something you want, its main issue is not the gacha cuz it is a fairly decent single player game. What people mainly groan about is the price of mtx which in genshin is completely optional and does not slow your progression in the game.

I am doing this for osrs, since I comped and got bis in range and have nothing left on rs3 I wanna spend money on. I can make 100m on avg with aod/raksha/ed3s. Gives me a good reason to go for reaper and something to afk on now that I am past comp cape but don't really wanna go for 200ms

why do harps when you can make profit by making fire battlestaves? you will still profit if you craft royal d-hide bodies and other dragon leather pieces especially if you use all the boosts.

Not planning on it, doesn't make for good content anymore as its mostly just about doing dailies/weeklies/monthlies. If I were to every do something like a speedrun again it would be an ironman

The gem crafting example applies perfectly for irons as well, except replace making money to buy supplies with gathering those same supplies. If you can get 50k xp/hr at harps without needing to gather materials, but you can get 500k xp/h cutting gems, just calculate how many gems you could mine per hour. With those numbers, as long as it doesn't take you more than 9 hours of mining to get enough gems for an hour of training, it's more efficient to mine your gems and cut them rather than doing harps.
