I’m curious about the relationship to / differences in Sharepoint - especially for team docs. I’ll rewatch your video(s) on that and see if I can reconcile the two.

Thanks @maureennevers9039. OneDrive is SharePoint - behind-the-scenes. SharePoint is more for collaboration in a team or department. When you create a Team in Teams - it creates a SharePoint site. When you manage a file primarily - put it on OneDrive. Teams chat also uses OneDrive. Else use Teams in Teams. SharePoint is more for techies. Very helpful content 👌 1. Getting files from other- Request File button is disabled in my company 2. Good to know that teams storage is different than OneDrive, but person who has created Teams site must be using it out of OneDrive only, right? Points that can be covered: 1. How to unlink any folder from OneDrive, in Windows 11, it became so easy because some files we don't want to keep on OneDrive to avoid internet and performance issue 2. How to see one drive files in MS teams on mobile without OneDrive app, I use this feature to read my notes on the go 3. All teams attachments and outlook attachment are synchronized in One drive under two separate folders, useful to refer later 4.Files can be shared directly from File Explorer window, right click on file, I found that easy one

Thanks @vishalpatil9. There are usage reports (learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/admin/activity-reports/onedrive-for-business-usage-ww) But those are more for IT administrators. At individual level there is nothing available. If you are a programmer, then explore MS Graph API. If not, there is nothing you can do. In any case, what is the benefit of knowing usage statistics? Thanks @jhonatanvelazquez2141. OneDrive is SharePoint - behind-the-scenes. When you create a Team in Teams - it also creates a SharePoint site. When you manage a file primarily - put it on OneDrive. Teams chat also uses OneDrive. For files that are implicitly relevant for a team / project / long-term initiative / recurring meetings - create a Teams in Teams. Teams is a simplified and more capable version of SharePoint optimized for Teamwork. As a user, there is very little you can do with SharePoint. You will need site creation permissions from IT team. Even after that, you have to learn SharePoint structure, security model, navigation, page editing, web parts and more. Not worth it. That is the gist. Does this address your queries / requirements? Still dont understand 3 syncing icons, cloud only is essy. What's the difference in 2 check marks , one with white n other with green?

White mark is for files or folders where you gave explicitly chosen the option "Always keep on this device". When you use Storage Sense feature to free up disk space, green mark files will become cloud only. White mark files will not be affected.

Thanks @MrWanted000. Yes. Many people have personal sub. In fact, some have multiple business accounts as well. Some companies do not allow personal accounts to be added to company-managed devices. I have problems understanding onedrive integration with teams. I don’t like it. I don’t really share files with anyone and it just clutters my search.

Please go slow for beginners. I dont understand Teams part. So the files u have in teams, where r they saved if not synced? And after u sync, do they permanently get synced with one drive? I thought teams files were not available to work off line, can we work on teams files off line? If you could explain relationship of teams, share point and one drive Please 🙏

Thanks @marklatin2563 for the feedback. Please use KZbin speed setting to reduce the speed to half and see. Teams files are stored in SharePoint sites on the cloud. Those are NOT synced by default. However, once you sync them using the method shown, you CAN work on Teams files offline. SharePoint is an app which allows you to create sites. Sites contain document libraries which contain documents. Each user gets one special Document Library with large capacity - that is called OneDrive. SharePoint site along with chat, meetings, shared tasks list functionality is Teams. In short, all of them are SharePoint at heart 🙏🏼 Check out my other best practices videos as well. The autosave is both good and bad. Mostly bad / annoying for me. I have accidentally made changes or deleted something by accident and not know until later. It also locks up files all the time. I have to wait a sec or two and continue. I am learning what to keep and what not to keep in onedrive. It does not work well with other software project files when 2 things working the file at the same time or lots of changes. Otherwise it has been ok.

If AutoSave is not behaving well, ask IT to update the version of OneDrive. AutoSave should not make you wait. It should happen in the background. If you have issues with multiple people working on the same file - ensure that everyone is using the Office 365 version of Office. Older versions of Office can create problems. If everyone does not have the new version of Office desktop, then ask them to edit the files on browser. It works perfectly.
