Excellent presentation! I really like the way you explain it using that graph, showing the peaks and valleys of the movement. I hope someday to try this sport. Best wishes to you on your running and foiling. 👍

Great explanation, even though i can now now pump for ~3 minutes on an axis 1401, i struggle to go further. I reckon that i may be pushing on the way down already, which would not be efficient. I imagined the push down like on a pump track, where it would accelerate when pressing on the 'down slope'. I need to rethink and analyze, you clearly show that you push with the back leg from down-flat to up, more like a skateboard 'ollie'.
@Ludo_freefoiler
@Ludo_freefoiler Ай бұрын
@@arco2ch thanks for your message! Exactly, well said! You are the second person I know to compare it with a skateboard Ollie, and I think this is a very comparable behaviour! On a pump track you cannot move the ground, it’s very stable so you can press. If you do the same on the water, you push some water away loosing energy I think.

curious about... "pumping for wing-foilers"... recommended path? good board choice? some sirius wing? or, mid aspect big-isch? light wind? or "just flag wing" more during windy days? exercises? (for intermediate, non-watermen)
@Ludo_freefoiler
@Ludo_freefoiler Ай бұрын
@@xxxyyy4538 For the board, a small pump board like the Kluber 80, is the best to get started. Using a bigger Wingfoil board for dock or beach start is too challenging and not that fun. For wing foilers I think the best is to get an advanced pump setup like a Sirus frontwing and to use it in light wind conditions wingfoiling. kzbin.infoKe4nakroU9o?si=xqCaLzZGBfZVjvnH Try to pump holding the wing behind you, this is a very good exercise you can do 👍 the best is to do a “around the world” pumping with the wing behind you doing a 360 👍👍

Thank you! Merci! Great video. That said, It would be great to see your mount and dismount technique. Also what to do if you’re out and about and fall off. How do you recover?
@Ludo_freefoiler
@Ludo_freefoiler Ай бұрын
@@JamesWilson-ts5xk Thank you! “Mount” and “dismount” you mean going down (descent) and going up (climbing)? The Sirus Frontwings are reliable for pumping long distance. After a lot of time on the water, I don’t fall that easily now. To recover this is like a reflex to come back quickly in a stable position. It come with experience knowing perfectly your gear. If I fall, I’m never that far from the shore where I can start again, I swim :)

Bonjour Ludo Gael says that during phase 1 we don't have to push but to let the board pitching down on it's own... to be loose I feel lost because you seem to say something different. Gael says we have to be "loose" diring phase 1
@Ludo_freefoiler
@Ludo_freefoiler 18 күн бұрын
@@cdriclef Hi Cédric! which phase it is for you the “1”? The transition at max elevation? This is a phase where you have to let the board go as up as possible bringing your legs upward and a phase where you relax -> I’m “loose” in this phase. You want to change from pitch up to pitch down as well, but without pushing hard on the board, otherwise you will go against to frontwing and be inefficient. To do it smoothly, I transfer my weight a bit forward to help to change the pitch: the board is going to pitch down almost on its own, I guide it just a bit by transferring my weight. Does make it more sense to you?

Thank for your explanation and for you time. Do you use any type of glue screws to avoid losing the correct tightening. I have some issues with the 3XL after 15/20 minutes. Best Regards

@@pedroagrafos my pleasure! I don’t use any glue. Do you have this problem for the screws connecting the FW to the fuselage or the ones connecting the fuselage to the mast? For the front wing do you use these screws: M6x20 below front position, M6x12 below rear position and M6x16 at the top. Screw first the M6x20 then the 12 then the 16. Hope it helps…

@@chucktrier thank you very much!! I’m happy if it’s helping 😊 I haven’t tested the V3 foils yet… the profile of the Sirus V3 xxl is similar to the V2 one, which I like a lot. The V3 should generate even less drag with the new fuselage and stab, so even greater performance. I hope to be able to test the difference between V2 and V3 soon…
