Question: You plugged the laptop into the network port of the SQ, but what if I need to have a router plugged into the network port of the SQ to use an ipad for control? Have you had success using a network switch with this setup? Do you have any recommendations for switchers that you know work with your setup? Hey, great to see this working. Do you know if this woyld work with loupedeck? It s basically a streamdeck with with knobs ... would it bepossible for instance to click on FX1 button and to have the 4 knobs on the left assigned to the sendToFader ... and the 4 knobs at the right some parameters of the fx itself ....

uhmm you need to see if you can use that with companion, try to check on the bitfocus website and see if it's possible

A Loupedeck currently isn’t able to be used with companion. It would be great to have those features though!

@@DanBamberAudio the razer stream controller seems to be compatible. But other question, is there a sort of midi-learn function on the loupedeck or streamdeck?

@@vinz440 The Razer is a repackaged Loupedeck, both of which aren't supported with Companion. Software is just reskinned but in razers adware synapse. The only encoders to currently work inside Companion is the TBar on XKeys. I bet that Elegato will bring out a contender to the Loupe&Razer which hopefully the developers will add to the list of compatible controllers.

Hi, I have a new band to work with this week. They are using qlab and live mics/ instruments. They request a monitor mixer and foh. I have sat for monitor mix and sq6 for foh. Live (local) input to sq5 are channels 1 to 14, qlab (via USB input) 15 to 26. Will the q lab 'self populate' the sq5? And will those settings also populate the sq6 (front of house)? I assume the 2 desks will be connected via a link? Thanks

Hello @mshep6318, so this is how I will approach this. 1. you will need a Slink to be able to connect the 2 desk FOH and MON 2. USB B to your Qlab Machine 3. You will need to patch the USB B Channel (Qlab output) to channel 15 to 26. 4. Use Tie Liens to send your Qlab Channel to your Monitor Desk

Yeah you can connect the stream deck at any time

@@vinz440 Hey sorry didn't undestad your question before. You will ALWAYS need a PC/Laptop to make the stream deck work. You need the Companion app installed on the pc and link this to the desk as I showed in the video

You can run companion on a Raspberry Pi, they're not very expensive and can be really useful in this situation.

Once again, I'm putting in an ip address as instructed and not getting a connection. Why does it look so easy?

make sure that you PC/MAC is in the same range IP of your SQ. example: SQ: 192.168.1.2 PC/MAC: 192.168.1.3 and in the companion APP you need to put the SQ ip address can you find in the Network Setup page. I always suggest to use more than just SQ and PC have a router that will take care of DCHP and distribution of IP
