The first few seconds at the beginning were a really interesting idea. It's shot mostly from her back so we can of get what it is like to be Effy. People just turn around and look at her, mesmerized just by her looks (and probably her style which, in the show, is pretty unique). It's so fun to watch ! Like at 0:03 the guy checks out Effy and his girlfriend gets annoyed. I never noticed this small detail !

This show had a chokehold on me. In all seriousness this was the only show that I felt I truly grew up with, seeing different generations of characters who may or may not have known each other, seeing them navigate real like issues was groundbreaking. I think when I was younger I only saw Pandora as a sort of comic relief character. But now, rewatching this clip, she basically shows what’s wrong with the whole UK education system. Why can’t she do multiple varying subjects in higher education? Doesn’t the government want people to have multiple skills? Doesn’t that make them more employable? And for the individual, makes their life happier as they get to pursue all passions of theirs, and get qualifications out of it? I think a lot of people would’ve laughed at that line because Pandora is set up in a kind of bumbling sidekick way. She even said (which is pretty ham fisted writing-wise) “I’m useless” when introducing herself. But she actually has a v good point. I wonder if she’s a character where she’s written that other characters and the audience dismiss her, but actually she is v deep and she deserves to be listened to? I know she is kind to Effy iirc
