right, they do have cold air intakes, but they are usually TRUE cold air intakes, not just a shiny tube with an open element filter that sucks hot under hood air. yeah they do burnouts too, but there is a reason behind it. Slicks work better when they are warm. yeah, cars are fast, i dig cars, but that has all been done before. going a 1/4 mile in 10 seconds in a car that weighs less than 3000 pounds is cool for sure. but doing it in a truck that weighs almost 8000 pounds? that is serious power.

and in response to the suspension, people will haul anything with a large truck. that's why you see a lot of the older 3/4 ton and 1 ton pickups with frame damage in the back. the new Chevys are the only ones i've seen that haven't had that problem. our shop truck is a 2008 3/4 ton duramax, and we pull things that are way too heavy for it, such as forty foot toy hauler fifth wheels, and it still has all of it's original ride.

you're correct. regardless, the company split. IH is not navistar. just pointing out that the IH sticker has nothing to do with ford. Navistar international is the division of IH that's partnered with ford, IH=tractors, and a farmall gas job has nothing to do with ford. So i support the IH sticker on the gm product!

I do not because you can ask a navistar and international technician and they service the powerstrokes up to 2010 (6.4) because they are the one who built the motors and sold them to ford. They dont refer to them as the 6.9, 7.3, 6.0 and 6.4. They refer to them as their name under navistar international (vt444 for 7.3 and vt363 for 6.0). Also navistar and international didnt fully split they are still a joint company just under different names. They are the same company and motor

Chevy's pickups have better rides, nicer styling, and if you haven't heard, the Allison transmission that's mated to the Duramax is a five speed with the option of being a manual shift. the only thing missing is the stick, dude. as far as price, you pay for what you get. i work for an rv dealership, and every dodge i've ever seen gets squatted by the trailer, whereas every chevy holds its own. the frame's better, the stock rear differential holds up better, etc. etc. in short, Chevy>Dodge.

yes, burnouts with a drag radial or a bias ply tire before a race has a point. doing burnouts on the street with an all terrain or highway tire is completely pointless. "Look at me! I can spin my tires until they turn into grease!" LOL!

it's the same as cummins and dodge...dodge doesn't own cummins, they just produce engines for dodges and other companies. International used to produce tractors and trucks and other stuff, but before they went under they sold the IH brand to Case (why it's Case IH now) and only kept the truck brand and changed their company name to Navistar International.

read previous comments. My 1953 Farmall Super A has nothing to do with ford.....period. I drive an 05 silverado. I make my living with my tractor. ford and international partnered in the 80's...so my IH novelty front license plate is justified on the truck. I've got two chevrolet tattoos, several chevrolet products, and an IH tractor that is entirely irrelevant to any ford product, navistar, vt444, powerstroke, any of that bullshit. it's a tractor, not a ford product.
@jwillrett918212 жыл бұрын
im not downing chevy but if they are so great then why are dodge trucks used for hauling big loads. i mostly see dodges pulling big loads. dont say its because of the cummins either. in order for it to be a good hauler it cant just have an excellent engine, it needs the good suspension and transmision to go with it. i like my powerstroke though
