I can even detangle with it. I also clay wash--i alternate using shampoo or clay wash according to how the hurr is looking/feeling. P.S. I'm a henna girl too! I use ACV as a detangler and then follow up with conditioner and style my hair wet and t-shirt dry overnight. Every weekend I clarify with castle soap. Technically sulfate-free but it cleans like a sulfate-I like a clean slate to work with. Because I wet my hair so often (even when i protective style), my scalp is really balanced. I've been natural for almost 14 years and no shampoo cleanses my scalp better than Nizoral. I have SD, and I've used it since my hair was relaxed. I also like using clay mixed with strongly brewed hibiscus tea. Both methods keep my scalp calm. I don't use a lot of products in my hair because of my scalp and because I'm cheap. Medicated shampoo/clay & tea, deep conditioner, water, shea butter or grease (depending on which I have in the house) make up my entire stash. I know this works for me because I've grown my hair to hip length before I cut it off a couple of years ago. It's back to bra strap length now. My scalp likes to be stripped and my hair likes to be left alone. So I try to stay consistent with that.
@Minicarrotjuice5 жыл бұрын
Grease is really good but some of them smell too industrial (royal crown). I also can't apply it to my scalp because it makes it dirty more quickly and traps all kinds of lint and all that.

Thanks for sharing and you are so right about hair grease (Blue Magic). This has been my second big chop within 4 years and the answer had been in my face. I have tried everything from black rice water too onion juice, which both work, but if you don't have the right sealant you can kiss length retention goodbye. Went back to my childhood basic with my very sensitive scalp and it's a whole new game. Once I embraced the hair I was horned with I started to see changes very fast. Ladies your hair really is your crown and glory and you should treat it as so. For the ones who know that you hair don't care for daily malpication, try wearing wigs to change up your look your hair will thank you. When I started my natural hair jounary I was not mentally or emotionally perpared, but I'm a quick learner. You will get to know you better or meet yourself for the first time.😃. Girl I love hair grease. I use a tiny lil bit of it when I need my hair to stay stretched and I have no problems. I have a sensitive scalp so I don't leave any products on it. I also use a scalp scrub I do cowash and there are cowashes that have cleansing agents. But I dont cowash exclusively. I make sure to clarify 1ce/2ce a month. I cowash either weekly or 2ce a week

I just started using hair grease again after not using it for damn near 15 years. Bought some blue magic for $2.12 at Walmart. Washed using my FAVORITE Shea moisture line the low porosity because like you said in the info box, the rest of their stuff is trash. Used the leave in, sealed with blue magic and my twists feel very moisturized and soft. This is the best it’s felt in a long time and I’m going to keep it up. Back when I was younger my mom did the simple wash condition hair lotion and seal with grease and my hair was so long and thick, when she took me to get my pictures taken, the photographer asked was I wearing a wig 😂 I don’t think my hair has changed since I was younger other than the terrible things I put it through listening to unvetted and unreliable sources on the internet. All those kitchen concoctions/12 hr wash day regimes/$20 products don’t work for me. #BackToBasics

Idk, I notice that hair grease dries my hair out and makes my scalp very itchy, and when I try to detangle with spraying water after a couple days, a lot of hair ends up on the comb. Only heavy hair creams or butters work for me and detangling under running water reduces hair breakage.

Same with me. It makes my hair super dry and REAL itchy. grease clearly doesn't work for everyone

Back in the day my gran used to sit me down between her legs & grease my hair with blue magic I've got grandkids now & doing it now to them. Hair grease is the best thing for natural 4c hair in fact for all type hair just use less for finer, Love your channel beautiful lady🤗

An Uncle of mine corrected me when I was young child. He said it is hair conditioner, not hair grease. I have never called it grease again. It does say on the containers Hair conditioner. That does sound better than grease.

I like grease but....certain greases irritate my scalp. Lool my scalp is dry dryyyy it sucks oils like nothing and ya I do use sulfate shampoos and bentonite clay as well.
@blessings4eva8635 жыл бұрын
I learned the hard way that I need a sulfate shampoo even though they strip your hair of all moisture but it really does a good job of removing buildup and dirt. So I use it once every month.

Thank you for this video! You are speaking so many truths!!!! From hair grease to positive affirmations, all these things ring true. Ps. Just on the tail end of a three month cornrow challenge!! Approximately a week left.. I cannot wait to unveil the glory that awaits me. During this challenge, I have done a weekly oil treatment (and towards the second half of the challenge done a few DCs as well.) Just super excited. It's been a fun process!!

I prefer Dax myself when growing up. Not using grease shouldn’t be expensive. Buy the ingredients like Shea butter and natural oils. I stopped using brands a long time ago. I had lox’s down to my butt but just found the length irritating when I was 6 months pregnant with my now 7yr old identical twin boys and shaved them all off. I regret throwing my lox’s away as I do plan to go back to locs when I turn 50😃 I love Castile liquid soap.
