Strictly speaking these work by flipping the polarity of the magnetic field around a coil, not moving the conductor. The cleverest part is being able to reliably send and receive a radio signal using the small amount of energy generated.

Installed one of these in my main bathroom a month ago. I HATE the pull chords. It’s absolutely brilliant. Have just installed another one to control the lights above the basin. No wires. No mess. No problems with BCO 😉

Use these kinetic switches often. My customers are always amazed by them lol 🤣👍

To be honest I’m impressed by them. And I don’t impress easily.

Been using Quinetic systems for a few years now,saves fortunes on cables and chasing. Bathrooms and bedrooms are very useful with this type of system also in a waterproof box outside lighting is also very good

I guess it depends on safety. In a bathroom having to touch a well steamed mains switch could be painful. In the UK these switches are usually on a string so there's no risk when flipping it.

Have you guys done a video on cable labelling (best and time saving)? This new way of providing switching requires good self-documentation to make things intelligible for the next bloke.

I see Makita are releasing a new 36v (presume 2x 18v) kettle.. Now you can get that coffee for all the site... I wonder if it will take 3hrs to boil and not actually be able to boil an entire kettle without a battery change out half way through... Can't wait for a review Makita KT360DZ

This Electrickery has me baffled! I had Curv light switches installed in a cabin that was built about 5 years ago. I am no longer in contact with the person who installed them and 3 of them have stopped working. I am unsure what bit I have to replace and Curv don't do them anymore anyway. Can you advise me what I can do, is it a case of just getting a different type of switch? Hope you can help.

I have one of these and it randomly turns on by itself. Do you know what causes it to do that and how to stop it?

I want to know how my neighbour got a wi-fi switch with a tiny blue light that's always on with no neutral to work. Only thing I can think is that it's leaking to live a tiny bit, not enough to light the bulb though. Or maybe earth!???
@syproful2 жыл бұрын
It is in series with the load. And so, yes it opens the gate a little to get a current.
@oliverriall2 жыл бұрын
@@syproful yes, normal switching circuit with no neutral, surprises me that this works and doesn't somehow cause issues.

Thanks for the answer Brian. 👍

Didn't older computers used to leak a tiny amount of current to earth as part of their normal function. Used to sometimes cause an RCD problem if lots them were connected to the same RCD protected circuit. Is this maybe using the earth in the same way? Dunno!

The BBC and TV licensing has (always) said if you have (any) equipment that can send and receive radio signals you are required by law to have a TV license . So theses things are next to useless if you don’t have a TV license so you have wasted more money on an overpriced peace of junk.😂😂 . fantastic video as always 👍👍❤️

I'm confused. So the switch is the sender and the light is the receiver. Is it like the waves get together and have sex? Like I say, confusing.
