People complain about the price and how small it is but what they don't realize is how iconic this airplane is, truly amazing!

What does that price have to do with it being Iconic
@myksanchez12222 жыл бұрын
@@Makindealz same reason why Ford charged an additional $20K beyond the MSRP over the cost of a regular mustang GT on the last bullitt mustang. Desirability is equal to $$$$...

It's not b.c. it's iconic, it's b.c. how long the development took. Software needed to be written a sweep wing mechanism is there and so on. Was not like shitting the F-15 out :D

Excellent setup video. Saved me a lot of time. For flight modes, I used Neutral, Medium and High (fully swept). Also I created a battery strap using the installed Velcro and a spare strap. Even created a video short.

E-Flite is really knocking it out of the park, with these new releases! Like yourself, I've always loved the 'Tomcat' since I was a little guy in the early 70's!This bird has really nice attention to detail & functionality, and seems to lend itself to being *quite the fun little park flyer!

Yeah, there's a sale on this bad boy lasting till April 30th. Plan is to set the UMX Sabre aside and see if I can get comfortable with this thing in Real flight sim at 10-15 MPH winds because that's the norm in these parts. Will let you know in 16 days if I got either the UMX Sabre or the F-14

Chris at 34:10 it makes sense that Aux1 (ch6 or flap) is sweep on the wing. No high rates/low or reverse thrust?

I cover dual rates and expo (didn't I???). As for thrust reverse...doesn't exist (yet) ;(

@@BrianPhillipsRC Maybe, because D/R works great in the SIM for this cool Tomcat, and I fly it all the time. Wish I had some extra coin to get the real bird, but the Viper 70 is now in the house. You're one lucky fella...

Good I updated my NX8 when I got it last month and did the 3.08, there was another option but I don't remember what it sas. As a suggestion for the F Mode I would have gone Out, Half, and Swept if it allows that for spoke (I am not sure I haven't messed with it yet)

Would adding a piece of Lexan to the nose gear give you a little rudder, and can it be programmed for Thrust Reverse?
@BrianPhillipsRC2 жыл бұрын
You'd get a little rudder action, as we've done in the past. BUT it's somewhat less of an impact than twin rudders on the back, in my estimation....but worth trying! As for Thrust Reverse, I didn't find a way to use it yet. Keep in mind, this is a new Multi-Purpose Twin ESC, so there might be a way, and we just haven't found it yet.

Could you use a 3 cell battery, just with how tight a 4 cell is, or is there room that you could put the 4 cell battery in the other way (battery cable coming out toward the back) and push the cable back rather than routing over the pack? I’m really not a fan of how tight the battery fits.

For this F-14 there are some Flight Mode things that are NECESSARY, whereas most planes we do are just servo by servo controls. There's actually a special patented launch system on this F-14 too, which is utilized to help with hand launching.

It is expensive and small - the Hobby King did a better size F14 than this one - why 40mm - Xfly do the 50mm as do Arrows Hobby - and a 50 would have made the F14 a bigger airframe, Ummm food for thought - not sure about the unproven "Servos" or what ever they are ??!!! also not sure about the Swing system - that plastic cover is a real pain to try and remove , would hate to do it our in the field just because of one bumpy landing should it be necessary - after a while I expect it is not going to CLICK back into place how it is meant to do -My bet is that this is all over KZbin for a few months then we hear nothing further about it... However having said ALL this - I have mine on order...
