EFLITE TWIN TIMBER-HOW TO TURN ON AND OFF D/T AND REVERSE by FGFRC

Well in this video I cover the long awaited how to on turning on and off DT or differential thrust and reverse thrust in the all new E-Flite Twin Timber! The key to turning the DT or reverse thrust on or off is getting into the ESC menus. And remember whatever you do to one ESC you must match in the other.

I gave up after about 20 tries to connect to ESC 2 and finally plugged it into my programmer.

Yeah you only have a few seconds to get into the second esc.

Great demonstration. I just got my Twin and am also having issues getting into the right ESC. I tried a couple times, but it’s good to know that persistence will/should pay off. Maybe someday, we will have an option to turn D/T on/off with a switch.

Hello my friend I have a quick question. Does the throttle trim need to be lowered all the way to get into the smart programming menu. I can’t even get into one of the ESC‘s right now and it’s pissing me off. One of my motors is spinning the correct direction and the other is not. Thanks for your help ahead of time

Yes zero throttle and throttle cut needs to be on if I remember right.

At this time it is not an option, it is with reverse however. Perhaps if they update the smart ESCs then they could.

Is it the same process with a DX8e transmitter? I noticed you were using a NX10. I have everything set just like you, High rate, and in AS3X. i cant seem to pull up the ESC menu on my transmitter. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Update your DX8e and if you can then see forward programing then you should be able to get to the esc menu. Remember you have only 10 to 15 seconds to get into the menu from the time you plug in the battery. 100 throws and SAFE off!

Many Thanks for Your'sw videos. In this, when configuring the percentage of the Differential in the ESC, it is verified that both in Motor "1" and in Motor "2" the Rotation is in "CW", therefore, believing that the "Motor "1" (Left = Red) is correct, I ask: shouldn't Engine "2" (Right=Green) logically be "CCW"? Thank You for your attention.

I also just purchased a "TWIN TIMBER 1.6 BNF Basic" and in the first 2 flights I had piloting problems where I had to make emergency landings. In the first case because the Rudder Servo had become detached from its place and in the second because the left Aileron Servo had been "burned". As such, I wasn't happy with the Horizon Hobby either because nothing justifies these "anomalies" in such expensive materials.

it is the same procedure as any esc. With the Radio on at FULL throttle THEN plug in the plane , wait for the Spektrum dance then after the first beep lower the throttle.

If you want to operate motors safely, you could replace the props with discs coloured with black and white stripes.
