I play on manual, so that I can control how I play, so, to me, Smart Assist is as ridiculous as it is unnecessary. Why does the game need to make such significant changes to inputs rather that minor ones that is already part of the game in input levels 1-3? Smart Assist is a slap in the face to actually developing skill.

interesting analysis, we need someone like you in the FC community to analyse in depth the mechanics that they added and if they work or not with the different individual playstyles they got this year that you can tweak and how those tweaks affect the gameplay etc. these things help people understand if they should buy a game or not.

Efootball should improve the way players shoot finesse shots. That body movement and shooting is unrealistic, it takes away the beauty of the goals. 2017 was perfect at how players shot finesse shots, the body movement was spot on, even though it was insanely unrealistic in terms of accuracy on target.

Smart assist does a lofted through ball sometimes when you play a regular through ball. But 90% of the time those don’t work on pa1/2 they get intercepted or the keeper sweeps it. idk if Konami actually plays their game

Good video, but if everybody can use smart assist the level is plain, its like the difference between PA1 to PA3, it is up to you what you use. If everybody can enable smart assist, then the field is level and people that have not used skill moves until now will not use them later. For example I am too dumb to pull off stunning shots, passes etc and I still win most of of my games. Because I can get into the box and score with what I can pull off.

Smart assist is horrible. I couldn't agree more with that it feels like your controller is broken. Like i genuinely got worried that my controller had developed some kind of stickdrift or something. Through balls are a complete gamble on whether you're getting a lofted through pass, or a regular one, and 95% of the time it doesn't work in your favour.

Also master league is an absolute joke 😂 I love playing it, because I love trying to win the league with my own club that has terrible players, it's always a nice challenge. But the fact that in 1 year, they've added barely anything to it, is shocking 😅. It's like ever since covid they've downsized the team working on the game. Lazy cheap ba******, people need to stop spending so much money on this cr**p

Spoony just on a separate note: I was giving it some thought. Do you think the reason they haven’t brought in edit mode is because of the card graphics? Think about it, with all the club emblems/badges they would have to include that in epic and other highlighted card types. Perhaps this is what’s holding it up? Figuring out how to overlay new imported badge onto a current highlighted card background? Just a thought

Edit Mode and Master League have been in the code from the day efootball released. Even Become A Legend is in the code. I think it's probably their dev team... maybe before efootball they had a dedicated dev team but now it's lost it's mojo since they fired some people and my second thought I think it's do with money... it could be so many reasons our heads will spin LOL I just wish they would explain why the games modes are not active because most game companies are transparent on what needs to be fixed or developed. However, I do think most people will stop waiting for these modes at some point and become uninterested in efootball as time goes by. A lot of efootball players dislike EA FC and UFL but these two in my opinion have the most potential to improve in terms of gameplay. I honestly do not see Konami moving to a new engine and improving most things because of the amount of money they make on mobile. Konami even wanted to do a cross-play where mobile was involved with Xbox, PlayStation and PC... that should tell you how much mobile matters to them. We know all EA FC have to do is fix the dribbling and maybe use a new game engine they don't need to promote at all because the celebrities and footballers promote it... UFL has a pretty dedicated dev team that are willing to try and make a good football game I mean they were going to release their game but people stopped them from doing it as it needed more fixing and so they delayed the game... Efootball will give you survey's and will only give you messi cards and neymar cards in return LMAO which should sum up the direction they're going.

Good point, Efootball failed from inception and not even the launch. The mere fact that it's mobile based has crippled any possible upscale in graphics and content because mobile can never take that kind of heavy data. Leaving us with mediocre top of the line ps3 graphics and no modes to enjoy like we did before.

I felt like through balls became so easy with smart assist on for myself it became a concern. We all know the META sweats will absolutely abuse smart assist so through balls are easier for them. I feel like if smart assist is implemented it should be limited to playing against the AI in other words either AI event matches or matches in eFootball League between division 10 and division 7 where the only opponent you face is AI

Gave it a shot in a couple of games, it was really weird and not enjoyable at all. Constantly felt like I was fighting against the controller.

I can understand it if it is only going to be for mobile and only offline but can't understand it for the console. I was trying to do a double touch and that is the only skill move I can do and perform while smart assist was on and it didn't perform it and was wondering like did they change the skill move directions or something and then figured out it was because of smart assist that I couldn't perform it. I just don't like the idea of an AI doing things for me that I don't want it to do. I would want my own creative style of play and would want to create my own way of building up the play. Not some AI suggesting what's the best for me in that particular situation. I still would like more player slots added to this game or either been made to unlimited player slots because of the fact they always bring out new players or club packs and etc. I do have the Brazil 22 year old Neymar but don't know if it is worth for the new 22 year old Neymar or the Messi one. Konami do make us manipulated I guess when they bring out a new club pack and etc. You just start to wonder if I should get that pack or not. The limited slots of players are not really helping for getting new players. I am not a player who likes to easily delete a player to be honest but sometimes it is just what it is. I would delete all or most my Mexican League players but know they would bring out Mexican League challenge event including getting a weekly player or something because of that I can't do that really. This game makes me wonder at some of those points I mentioned but it is what it is at the moment unfortunately. 😮‍💨

This game is a mess with them always bringing out new players but having limited slots for players but that is only my opinion and others may think differently. For instance I have 4 different Hakimi cards because they all have differents stats and playstyles and attributes and etc. I have 400 players in the mobile version and that is me not even playing it as much as the console version. Also another thing is replays of a goal it is always the same and sometimes from a weird angle especially from a freekick. I do feel like Konami need to still do a lot more to this game and just hoping we will see a lot more and a much more revolutionised game when they add Unreal Engine 5 to it. Sorry been complaining a lot I guess right now Spoong Big Brother. Just gotta accept it even if it is a pain in the heart and soul I guess.

You might be overplaying the tricks, as you just push the right stick in the direction you want to go, and it auto-chooses and auto-performs it in that direction too. (Not that i'm a fan).

This abomination is the worst piece of garbage in the history of football games.. just try out something guys.. whenever u get an advantage because of a foul (maybe once in 15 games) try losing the ball to get a freekick. In short, it should only be there when you choose Training Mode, for educational purposes, like training wheels on a bicycle. Other than that, keep it out of the game. That Double Touch problem is also in the earlier PES games going back to 2020. When the AI influences the game, it lags or and restricts or adds command input on your player, so when you are trying to do quick skill moves, it always spits out that annoying slow double touch move that is well easy for the AI to intercept. It's so irritating. There's also the Roulette move coming out twice in a row when you only input to do it once, so the second one you didn't even want slows you down and gives the AI the opportunity to come back and take the ball. Sounds like the same rubbish going on here to be honest.

Crossplay Mobile in disguise. This is the trial for it. Will be a sad day for eFootball when console players need to face mobile with all its cheating issues. Smart Assist is even more 1 button press braindead AI robot football. Smart assist chose worse pass direction/receiver lots of times. Automated and boring. Easily got the coins but every game felt like playing a bot gifting me the game. Will be interesting to see the survey questions, Konami might frame them to align with their plan for Smart Assist / Crossplay Mobile. I expect something like "Millions of players enjoyed the Smart assist event. Player feedback received and based on this we will continue and improve the Smart Assist feature." 😒

Passes are bad. You cant pass right half the time. Assisted is either to much goin to the player or not enough .and player points dont help if its 90 it stil wil go to the player tht is not open and make bad pass

I've played the event too, and I think Smart Assist doesn't change my gameplay fundamentally. It even allowed me to lob over the goal in a situation where I coukd easily have scored pressing the right buttons, but suddenly couldn't help using EA FC's shot controls because of having just tested that 😂. I don't think it will change anything fundamentally. I think that in this one aspect they should learn from FIFA and FC: They show you a more ideal option, but don't force it on you, when you have switched Smart Assist on. Not for me in general, but I totally agree that it opens up new possibilities that I would have overlooked before. So it's OK. But I would have appreciated Master League and Edit Mode more than Smart Assist.

Great review. Anyway, i just uninstalled this shit game. I kept being matched up with wales, and my players being handicaped (90% heavy touches, slow turning, slow reactions, etc). I have nothing to play in this game. Thanks mobile players and all the dads that give their kids their credit card.

man your PC gameplay is so nice and calm, pace is way more realistic. on ps5 every player is just on crack and speed at the same time.
