Efren was asked many times who he thought was his toughest opponents. He always said Nick Varner and Buddy Hall. He was asked if he could pick a non-Filipino as a pool partner who would be choose. He said Nick Varner.

Efren never said that. He said Earl was hos toughest opponent
@RichardsWorld Жыл бұрын
@@wliva76 wrong. He rarely mentions Earl. Even though we consider them the biggest rivals. And he also mentioned Mike Sigel often.

He's only being kind about his players and rivals. He chose their names because none of them know how to play pool. Easy money

Think of KFC. KFC is Kentucky Fried Chicken. The main person of KFC was Colonel Sanders. So it is like a joke nickname calling him the Kentucky Colonel because he is from Kentucky. He wasn't called the Kentucky Colonel for being smooth 😃

That last shot has probably haunted Varner. He should have played safety instead, but he got ahead of himself.

@@engineeringartist4801 When you’re on the hill for big money, risky shots are a no no imo. Varner got too confident from his badass shots shortly earlier. To answer your question, I would have gently hit the right half of the 7 and tucked the 7 behind the 8 and left the 8 ball right between the 7 and cue ball. Another idea would be to hit the 7 with stop English, resting the cue ball right there on the rail, and sending the 7 ball all the way down to the opposite side of the table close to the middle diamond, hopefully with the 8 ball blocking the view.
@sp1200M3D Жыл бұрын
@@engineeringartist4801 Absolutely, it’s a great shot banking it. Better than cutting it because the cue ball can go wild, risk of possibly scratching. To each is own, it’s all good. The most I ever had was a $400 shot, and when money is on the line, the pressure/nerves creeps in. Are you in Delaware by chance? Lol

I actually still shoot with my Nick Varner Falcon cue stick from 1990. Pops gave it to me, R.I.P.

@@engineeringartist4801 Yeah, it’s funny. Only shooters watch pool on tv or the internet lol It’s the only sport I’d ever watch full matches. We are a different breed. I remember the good old days when I was a teenager with cargo pockets stuffed with cash. Coming home after a late night hustling, dumping it all on the bed and only then counting it. I’d never show a roll or stack in public, still don’t matter fact. It’s a great game and one day I’d love to have my own table again. Had bad nights too of course, so I know the feeling. My nerves always effected me more during tournaments. How I got my nickname too lol Later on in life when I got out of pool, people really thought I was sneaky smh Cheers!
