It's really generous of Efren to continue playing against top tier players in public events even when he's well past his prime. Many more egotistical players would hang their jersey to avoid public humiliation, but the Magician keeps performing for all his fans.

West Virginia here. Been watching Efren since the late '80's. Met him, the first time, in 'new' airport, in Denver, in 1994. (When the new airport still wasn't open due to baggage handling problems.) They had to move us to Stapleton. He was surprised anyone (me) recognized him. We spoke for about 30 minutes. It was an honour. His English wasn't as good, as it is now, but he was so graciius, and humble. Most players, were anything, but. Throughout the later '90's, I was fortunate enough to watch and even get beat, by him, quite a few times. He has certainly lost a step, but at his age it's no wonder. (My eyesight started going when I was in my early 50's.) I quit playing 15 years ago. The kid he played, played like a scrub. Each shot he took, in a couple racks, he got more out of position. Regardless, Mr. Reyes *is* the G.O.A.T.!

You may be the perfect person to ask this question, I too am a massive Reyes fan but I unlike yourself, have never gotten the chance to meet him... My question is this, people say that as insanely talented and incredible Erfen was in the late 80's and 90's, his actual PEAK PRIME self was much earlier. Like early 80's even late 70's.
