The climb just before the town is massive, but there will be another one even worse a few days later. This is the Primitivo.

In front of the Bar " O Acebo" there is a big mark pointing out the entrance in Galicia. It's always good for pictures :)

Efrén, im planning on doing same distance. I have a very light pack, but even though i have both Olympus and LonePeaks i think Im gonna try Lone Peak. I know you are carrying Olympus and even a shelter on this trip i recall. Whats your point of view on the shoes and gear? And is the Primitivo harder way than the others you think even though its shorter? Felizes Fieastas a ti y tu familia

Thr Olympus 4 are great if you are carrying excess weight as they provide more cushion. No need for the shelter. I took my because of the San Salvador and this was just as Spain open to foreigners and I didn't know what the albergue situation would be during those first months. Thr primitivo is around 11 days and it felt like the first few weeks on del Norte. The toughest section was the Ruta de hospitales and it was manageable. Buen camino and happy new years.

@@Walk_with_Efren Yeah i know. Ill take i chance on Lone Peaks, its only 5-6 kg im carrying anyway. Im gonna use Olympus on my upcoming thruhike with 14 kg, before el camino. Thanks for answer. Good to have some indication from your adventures. Though gear is "not so important", i like to see that you are up to date with it too since youre experienced. But what did you do with the backup drive? Hopefully I can see you on Japan later too, and more section of the AT. I know though its not easy with a familiy there too, i have.same challanges, so Im bringing my wife on upcoming (small) thruhike too
