Hi Ruby, yes you could tap on yourself for these issues with your child. I would suggest tapping on specific areas though. If you know the I underlying reasons for the depression and eating disorder then you could try tuning into that but usually there are many emotions tied up in these conditions. If for example the depression is expressing as sadness on a particular day you could tap on the sadness. Have you ever read a book called The Emotion Code? It’s a really good book for helping to find which emotions are trapped within the body. Depending on how old your child is they might also find it helpful to read.

Thank you soo much for your reply. I will buy this book and read it. The reason for depression and eating disorder in our case is a childhood trauma and abuse. I have been doing a surrogate tapping for a while now and I have started seeing small improvements. But, I need to understand more in depth how to go in the right direction.

Can I use this with emotional trauma? I'm guessing so. I have a 19 month old who witnessed a family blow out, her father left to the other side of the country the day after and has only talked to her once in the two weeks he's been gone. She was already starting to have toddler tantrums but they have escalated to extreme very fast. I've used tapping on myself and know how well it works. I need to find a way to help my daughter, nothing else is helping.

Hi Sarah, yes you can definitely use this for the emotional trauma your daughter is going through. You can tap through what’s happened to her and the emotions she may have about it. You could do it while she sleeps at night. There is even the option of muscle testing to find any emotions she might be holding on to and then tap through them. A good book with instructions on how to do this is The Emotion Code By Bradley Nelson. I also tap while my daughter is having a tantrum and it really works to calm her.
