Efteling Vlog | OUR FIRST VISIT! - July 2022

You seem to have had loads of fun but Efteling is massive and thus it is definitely a two day park. You’ve been on the main attractions, but there are so many other things to see. I was smiling from ear to ear when you said that every new ride you went on was one of your new favourites. The dark rides are world class and the coasters are often well themed and a lot of fun (not super intense, but they don’t need to be, as the park is mostly oriented towards families). You did miss Villa Volta and Vogelrok out of the other main attractions. Those two are really, really good in my opinion. I always love seeing foreigner’s first reaction to my home park. 99 out of 100 times they’re blown away.

Thank you for your comment and you are 100% right! I can’t wait to come back and really take the time to explore every corner of Efteling. There’s something so magical about that place, and you can only really experience it in the flesh! Unfortunately the queues were all about 45-60mins + the storm! So we really had to prioritise the main attractions. But don’t worry we’ll be back!! And I’m so jealous that Efteling is your local park!

Well, timing is everything. I always recommend people to go outside the weekends and outside the vacation periods. A Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday in April, May, June, September or October is the best. You will have decent weather (but rain, being the Netherlands, is always an option), and generally, the park is less crowded and you have a decent chance to do all the rides in one day.

Thanks man! You should have seen it, they had to bring these trucks in to suck water out of the drains to stop the paths from over flowing!! But looking back, I think it added to the day in a really weird way 🤣

@@WorldofThrills It’s a good thing Efteling has many indoor attractions… The weather looked insane. I’ve only seen something close to like that at Efteling once before. The coasters were still opened and they had very short queue.

Great video, glad you enjoyed. You missed about half the park. Efteling is certainly a 2 day park. Book a stay next time, it includes entry to the park on all the days. So 1 night, includes 2 park days, 2 nights include 3 days and so on.

Thank you! I agree, unfortunately with the weather & school trips it was pretty difficult getting everything done. But don't worry we'll be back to stay at the hotel and have a good few days to see it all. Thanks for the tips!

@@WorldofThrills I recommend staying at Loonsche Land Hotel or in Bosrijk. It is much more magical than the Efteling Hotel. THey are also buiding a new hotel at the entrance, but it is far from ready yet.

To get the most out of your day you need a bit of a strategy. What we like to do is get on some of the big rides early in the morning. Then when the park fills up do a bit of the walking attractions like the fairy tale forest or the less popular onces, have some lunch and basically just chill, then at the end of the day right before closing time do one or 2 of the coasters again as it quiets down. Ideally you stay a night and make use of the early park access for resort guests. The resorts are great, I really like Bosrijk, very green and lush with nice and large aparments and holiday homes for much more reasonable prices (and better quality if you ask me) than the Disney parks. Early entry is only half an hour, but in this time you can easily get 2 or 3 of the big rides done. Unlike Disney the queues do move because most attractions have a high capacity and there is no payed premium "lighting lane" nonsense at the park. Usually they do underpost the wait times to make sure people are not disappointed, so when it says an hour queue, its usually more like 45 minutes.

I’m Dutch and I usually go once a year. I’d love to stay there for a few days some time. That’d really give me time to do a lot of the main attractions more than once as well as doing all the smaller attractions.
