When you're talking about screen accuracy when comparing the EFX to the black series mask the black series mask is supposed to be the mask Vader got at the end of Revenge of the Sith which is not the same mask he wore in a new hope and when Obi Wan destroys Vader's mask at the end of the Obi Wan Kenobi series is when I believe he replaces it with the new hope mask. So you see the black series mask is screen accurate from a certain point of view.

NO, this eFx was NOT taken from the don post mold (which was created from an empire helmet) the EFX HELMET WAS MADE FROM A mold taken from the original ANH helmet (I don’t remember if it’s the screen-used or the touring helmet which might’ve been one and the same) CREATED BY RICK BAKER himself years ago … I might’ve gotten some details mixed, but The Late Bryan Ono of eFx, told me that this mold was lost in the archives and found years later when eFx was looking to do a another project..they hit the jackpot with this discovery, so eFx made a cast from this mold and created some molds for the production of eFx limited and legend fiberglass helmets. So the provenance of the eFx is very very good and might even be considered second or third generation …pits and things were cleaned up just slightly enough where it’s superficial and they tried to keep some telltale marks of the original helmet, but the best thing about it is the CRISPNESS and the perfect shape that didn’t have to be reconstructed or remade like many of the albeit beautiful pirate pieces out there.

My understanding is that there were two molds made from the anh screen used helmet (one in the us aka Rick baker mold and one in the UK) -Rick baker created the master pattern from the screen used helmet for the purposes for touring etc.(because initially they used the screen used suit work by Kermit) and that don post used that master pattern to make the ( 4 ?) different touring suits.

If you thicken the helmet on the black series and have it resprayed it looks awesome and it's so much more wearable

Very cool vid. I have the EFX, and it's worth every penny if you're a big Vader fan((especially at $350). Black Series isn't bad(Kenobi version in particular), but it's not as accurate as their other SW releases, and Vader is such a massive pop icon, that it's very noticeable when something is off. Both Black Series and Rubies messed up when they didn't put a lip on their dome edges, it makes a huge difference I think

I had the full size Don Post Classic Action one in the early 2000s. it had a totally different crown on the mask for the helmet to attach and rest on.

Nobody, from what I have seen, realised it was the dome that made the black series look bad. Put a rubies dome o a black series and it changes the piece completely. For me, I am old so have older but more expensive lids!

the EFX Vader rules.....the Black Series is garbage! The Black Series is not even close to accurate. The only real inaccuracy with the EFX is the inside of the "lid". The screen used has a rough interior.
