I couldn’t get my life power 4s to communicate with the eg4 18kpv. SS told me to make the master battery zero. I watched your video and flipped the first dip switch up and the relay clicked and system status went to normal instantly. Wow.

For what those cost one would thunk they'd use best quality dip switches available,and it isn't like you can jump in the ol truck and run down to Radio Shack any more and swap a dollar 2 ninety five for a decent quality switch.. I'd contact the company,advise them of this issue,ask them if they're willing to send a tech with new switch down,or give me a ra to return this one for a new one or they repair it totally at their cost in a very short timely manner... Good thing it wasn't something really bad though there Jefe..

I’ve let them know about the switch. It’s not field repairable and the battery still works. It’s not worth the effort to send it back.

Battery works on even number addresses. I’m not going to return it. Too much hassle shipping something that size.

I have six of the same batteries. Address 0 is the top battery (should be Address 1 and count down to Address 6). Makes no sense to me why they did it this way. If you have six batteries, it should start with Address 1 on the top. Other than than that...they work fine. BMS_TEST works fine.

When using the comm hub you can’t use address 0

@@jeffmotes2129 I know first battery can't have dips set as first battery as hub takes that address. The battery ones dips are set as number 2 and so on for each battery after. I just used their diagram for each battery as I only have 5. My 1st is 1 up 3 down, 2nd 1 down 1 up 2 down, 3rd 2 up 2 down, 4th 2 down 1 up 1 down, 5th is 1up 2 down 3 up 4 down.

@@JLU351 that’s my understanding as well. To program or update firmware you have to be all down 0000. When tying into the hub start with 1000.

That software is very early 2000's They need an upgrade to the entire software. I just set my first battery to Zero and the other batteries to anything but Zero.

That’s the way I ran my batteries until I installed the communication hub. Address 0000 is reserved for the hub so no batteries can be set to 0000. Starts with 1000.

good catch as least it was an always open vs always closed AND only affected ADR0, if it would have happened on a higher address switch that would be a true nightmare. How do you like the new EG4 display ?

I have it communicating with 5 batteries. My read/write cable went bad before I could update all the batteries. I’m not going to try to communicate with the Sol-ark until I get the other batteries updated. Probably next week.

The first switch changes addresses from even to odd. So with it not working I can only set even addresses - except the hub won’t read address 0000.

I bought the hub, I have 11 battery's, 5 are 7 month older. First off, all my dip switches are upside down. I had to update firmware on older battery's for them to work every time on the hub. The hub keeps wiping my sd card and will not boot when it wipes it out on some start ups. ( must reformat 32 fat for it to work) I keep it out now. The hub has been working with my Sol-ark for 8 plus weeks trouble free. Tech support was little help and wasted my time. They did call me back days later and I had to tell them what I did to resolve the problem. Granted it is a new product

I’m having to update firmware as well. Problem is my read write cable went bad before I could update them all. Ordered a new cable. Hopefully it’ll be here before long.

@@jeffmotes2129 well before I did the firmware upgrade. They would talk to the hub and then they wouldn't talk to. It was pretty confusing. Did the firmware upgrade. And it's been working. Now the SD card part of it. Not so good. Signature solar is just not a lot of help. You better be retired and have a lot of time the deal with them. Where their training Center.

@@bigblockcutlass123 mine is now in a constant reboot when the SD card is installed. Took it out and it works fine. Got another SD card to try.

My experience is if you buy anything from SS your going to have constant issues.
