Deodato travels around the world without his own band. It's clear from some of the live performances on KZbin that he doesn't always get the backing he deserves but this was ideal. The guitarist in particular plays his heart out and deserves the Deodato "that's great, man" look he gets at the end of his solo. By the way, who else noticed the butterfly land on the guitarist's ear during his solo? He did well to shrug that off without missing a beat.

Saw Deodato for the 1st time at Baruch College Auditorium in NYC around 1976/77...WOW!...The energy coming out that band was a sight to behold, and listen to...His first 2 Albums are Jazz Fusion Masterpieces...John Tropea,Billy Cobham,Will Lee,etc.etc...50 years later and I still listen to them...What a great melting pot music was back then...I'm grateful I was around to listen to and see it!
