The joinery is really top quality and very well engineered. Great work! I was going to build a coop from scratch (chicken humor), but after seeing this, well, I'm reconsidering. :) Really top notch!

Were you talking about him or the hutch or both?

Excellent build and great design. The only thing I'm surprised about is the lack of roof insulation, but you also left off the foam closure strips, so you would have a little air flow. I only comment because we have a lot of direct sun on the side of the coop where the nesting box is.

Bill Jutz I agree. I see no reason for the foam inserts. Why not let the egghutch have the ability to breath as much as possible.

I just purchased your 3 nest egg hutch and it is beautifully crafted. My only concern. Could an animal push out from the bottom the plastic and enter the egg hutch and henhouse?
@CarolinaCoopsVideos Жыл бұрын
With the construction of the egg hutches, the siding and fitment of each piece means that you don't have to worry about predators entering from the bottom of the egg hutch. However, let's hope they spot big foot somewhere else. Let us know if you have any questions, you can also always give us a call at 919-794-3989 for more help!

Thank you. I noticed the Egg Hutch doesn’t have a roof other than the metal. I live in Wisconsin will this be water tight in the rain and snow??
@CarolinaCoopsVideos Жыл бұрын
@@magsgarage4611 Yes, you won't have to worry about water entering the egg hutch, when it comes to snow, if its heavy snow, you may have to look into our foam inserts or something similar for yourself Heres a link to a video, where we discuss how to protect your chickens and coop in hot climates and cold climates. Matt talks about protection from rain and snow towards the end of the video, but you'll see that its timestamped: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3S1kJqCbNl4q8ksi=FNhwvUeEXh4J3JGb

Beautiful egg hutch! I just wrote to you about purchasing one for our new coop. Only question I have is couldn't a raccoon push up the bottom of the egg hutch and get in? Could a piece of wood be installed underneath the egg hutch below to prevent that from happening? Thanks. Keep up the good work.
@carolinacoopsservice73067 жыл бұрын
THANK YOU!! the egg hutch is up about 36inches off the ground. We have yet to have a "break in" of any kind to date. Im sure anything is possible though. You can add whatever you feel necessary or we can customize to your specification! Thanks for watching

Thank you for the info. We have a terrible problem with raccoons. That is why I am worried about them getting into the coop. I don't trust those little rascals. We had one attack our little pug dog a few months ago and he was right outside our kitchen door on our deck. They are so bold and we always seem to have a whole family of them hanging around. Right now our goat protects our chickens, but she is 16 now and won't be here forever so it is time to build a "high security" coop!

@@CarolinaCoopsVideos 40 year cabinet and furniture shop here, used to run 6 to 8 guys full time. Pretty much idle now, you get tired after designing and building cabinets and fixtures by the mile with several dozen houses [Not for chickens!] built just for fill in time. The stress of being the LAST contractor out of the house and the most visual brings tons of trouble. Lot of underutilized places in California such as myself could build your components.
