As a fisherman... Although fish feel pain, they do not have emotional capacity for suffering. When fish are caught (specifically tuna) they typically have their gills cut so they die quickly, and their blood is drained in order to preserve their meat. They are rarely clubbed, although this can be considered the more humane option as they die instantly. The "harpoon" referred to in the article that was brought up is called a "gaff". Gaffs are essentially a hook at the end of a pole. These tools, while seemingly barbaric are far more efficient than a net for hoisting a fish into the boat. P.S. Team Egg Salad P.P.S.
