12:30 if you remember, the dungeon cleaners started mucking around the sword hilt. Before that it was a plain square with wings, but afterwards… And actually if you pay attention to the background statues and designs, the winged lion appears a lot! The living armor had a lion motif, the old city had lots of statues, I’m pretty sure some gargoyle/water spouts also had lion motifs

Interesting...I wonder if the cleaners were 'pre-programmed' to added the lion motifs to certain objects then...but if they only restore things to their original condition, could the sword have had the symbol before and had simply lost it to time? Or is this a case of the dungeon exerting its own will, similar to how it responded to Senshi's original expedition looking for gold? Does it want Laios to become the next Lord and is actively setting him up, *choosing* him to be the chosen one because his pursuits have been largely noble and pure of heart? (i.e. seeking to find his sister, studying and eating monsters, gaining a great understanding of the ecosystem and the dungeon's inhabitant) Man, I love the mystery that this presents.

Elves and Dwarves DOMINATE the world of Dungeon Meshi in a way that’s kind of rare to see in fantasy setting. The long lived races impose their will on the short lived ones. And I think the third most powerful are the gnomes, the other long lived race, with everyone else fighting for their scraps, hence why the elves “gave” the humans this island, thinking there was fuck all there, and want it back now that they know there is a dungeon.

Gnomes are mostly in the same faction as Dwarves, not the same culture, but very close neighbors, they also hate the Elves because of their conflicting magic systems: Elves forcefully take control of Spirits, while Gnomes have a more shamanistic approach and “negotiate” with the Spirits, it’s particularly intense because Spirits are important in Gnome Religion

its actually kinda funny that despite a lot of fantasy settings deriving from tolkien, many of them do the opposite of tolkien in this regard. In tolkien's world elves and dwarves did dominate and even by the war of the rings era they're still extremely important despite being diminished. I have a questions, for what I saw in the last episode of the season, ancient Dwarves has a really really advance technology and look like they're so superior. So how did the elves keep up with that? Or from what I heard, the elves is even become the number 1 powerfull races or nation and Dwarves is second. How is that possible?

Something to (maybe) keep in mind is, _outside_ of the context of the party, Marcille is an elf first, an extremely dangerous caster second, and “a person” _third_ , if not further down the line. Without knowing their party or seeing her get tilted about their food options, people might even assume she’s the leader, or that she’s the reason they’re eating monsters, nevermind the black magic. They have _that_ little context to her, and elves have _that_ strong of a reputation. Also, yeah, dwarves cannot _stand_ teleportation magic. Not even just preference, it makes them sick.

Yup, dwarves got special inner ears that helps them stay space-oriented while exploring underground. Makes them excellent miners and dungeon crawlers, but it's absolutely horrid for them when they go through space-altering magic like teleportation. Like how the ghosts shifted them into the pocket dimension this episode and had Senshi barfing up.

Just to clarify, I don’t think they “ate” the Ghosts with the Sorbet. I think the Holy/Blessed components of the liquid dispelled/exorcised the spirits _temporarily_ (good looks greyep) and the cold from the ghosts froze the liquid as it passed through, turning it into dessert. I don’t think they were consuming ectoplasm.

A few episodes back Laios noticed that dungeon cleaners were "eating" the sword, and you could see it kinda start to take on a lion shape at that point. Cool detail I noticed this time around: when Marcille tried on the Met Gala dress, Izutsumi rubbed her head on it, and they even showed little lines of cat hair on it. Love the attention to detail.

I'm with the gnome grandpa here. I don't trust these elf spec-ops; they don't seem like ordinary diplomats, they seem like an army platoon. They have an air of superiority that gives off "we think we're better than you". They act like they know they're untouchable and that if anyone tried anything against them, it'd be starting a war, and the knife-ears know that because in the end that's what they want. Kabru seems to know this too, as he's seen elves in action first-hand. I would not hand over the island to them; an island with the secrets of immortality and taming monsters, there's a recipe for disaster.

Fun Fact, Laios sword didnt have the Lion head but until the cleaners episode. Laios causally noticed cleaners gathered around his sword and dusted them off, at that point the cleaners already restored the sword to its intended look, with the lion face on it.

some side story of itzusumi from adventurer bible vol.2. note that 1. its side stuff so we dont know if they will ever animate it, so far none so 99% its never gonna be told on screen. 2. this is fan translated since the book came out back in jan for japan but not outside of it yet. hopefully official english release by next year. they meet a person that knows about monster soul fusing and itzusumi asks them about any way to seperate it out. the person examined her and said its impossible do to there is NO HUMAN BODY. she got confused and demand answers and this is what she is told: a human soul is fused into a BEAST body, not a beast soul infused into a human body. there is a moment in main story that hints of this which wont reveal when it happens but yeah default body is a beast and infused with a human soul. but also explains why she is acting like this since the beast body is reacting to the suppression magic.
