Well he views it through the eyeballs of a tourist, swallows the apartheid museum B.S. as full gospel , rose tinted glasses which sees none of the rapes, shootings, hijacks, and all the other shenanigans that go on here. Doesn't feel any of the corruption , load shedding nor criminal activities in general or idiotic government led by a defunct anc which actually makes his stay so pleasant travelling on the quid because the said idiots in power fckd the economy up. It's okay Tim, you can speak Ur mind honestly, saffas will still love ya, the survivors are tough skinned boyo!!😂

Cape Town is quite different from Jo'burg and Durban, Tim. Cape Town is the laid back, cool, rich cousin you only see during the holidays. Jo'burg is, well, Jo'burg - a beautiful mess. Durban is more of an in-between; not as laid back as Cape Town but also not as wild as Jo'burg.

"Impi", the 1981 song by Johnny Clegg & Juluka, references the Battle of Isandlwana in 1879, the the first major encounter between British and Zulu forces in the Anglo-Zulu War in South Africa. "Impi! wo 'nans' impi iyeza Obani bengathinta amabhubesi?" Impi=war or fight wo 'nansi' = oh! here it is iyeza=it's coming Obani=who? bengathinta=can touch amabhubesi=lions So, ironically perhaps for Tim, the Boks are called the lions on match day 😅

Beautiful Cape Town ! In Afrikaans we say Kaapstad, but we really call it Slaapstad (Sleep Town because they are all horizontal). All our stadiums are fabulous, but Ellis Park is the rugby home you just cannot hear anything so you just watch fabulous rugby. Mbombela or Nelspruit Is also a different experience, great stadium, and yet they will not give us a World Cup ! Thank you for showing our beautiful country, from the Bush, to the beautiful coastline and there is just so much more you have not seen. We are the friendliest people on the planet we welcome all x

Springbokkies have travelled the world. After the 2007 RWC Final, which we watched at the iconic Elephant & Castle pub in Guangzhou, China where we were living at the time, my wife bought them for the entire pub. I can’t recall, for obvious reasons, what the ingredients were but Peppermint Liquer was certainly not available. The game started at 3am local time and dawn had long since arrived when we were eventually tossed out of the pub. This prompted said wife to invite the remaining crowd to our apartment for bacon and eggs. I managed to beg, borrow and steal sufficient ingredients to serve to the assembly of South Africans, Aussies, Kiwis, English, Samoans and one guy from Fiji. Needless to say my booze cabinet was totally empty.

What you may have noticed in CPT compared to the other cities is the volume of Afrikaans slang, and the volume of singing even Rassie said, CPT sings even when you losing. The crowd keeps singing. Because most of the boys would have grown up with these singing war cries and motivational chants, it is encouraging to them and you can see it, even afterwards during Siya's post match on field speech and the way the crowd responded. So good.

I wish you could have been at a packed Newlands stadium when the WP, Stormers or Springboks played. Cape Town stadium doesn't come near it. I have been at both stadiums when they were full but the atmosphere and the noise at Newlands were just something else. Maybe it's because the Cape Town stadium is actually built for soccer and Newlands for rugby. The pavilions of rugby stadiums are built a lot more upright than soccer stadiums. So you sit much closer to the field.

Excellent! I can´t wait for your take on AU vs ARG. Tim, you are one of the few objective commentators and analysts out there. Please do us the honour!

Welcome to our beautiful city Tim, so glad you got to experience Cape Town and the epic clash between two great rivals. You really summed it up perfectly, we are building and growing as a nation thanks to our beloved Bokke……..that spirit and unity you witnessed is what we call “gees” and brings us all together. You really understand South Africa and the role rugby plays in our country, in another words, you “weet wat ons weet” (you know what we know) 😆 Thanks again for all your content and enjoy the rest of your time in Cape Town!

Tim, Cape Town is different. VERY different. IT is THE place with with the most cultures and they all mix, no strife, just mix. And I am not taking away anything from our other provinces, CT is just different.

Thank you so much for putting this video together. We seldom get to see the crowds going wild when points are scored by SA and great to get a glimpse of SA receiving trophy. Haven't been able to find a video of this happening anywhere on you tube. Also so refreshing to hear your views on SA as a first timer to Cape Town. SA gets so much negative press around the world so thanks for that. Love your pods.

Awesome content as always, Tim! This makes my South African heart burst with pride. You're spot on about Saturday's events being special and meaningful. Those dancers represented the very many cultures we have in our country, all dancing to the same song, creating something beautiful together. Powerful stuff! [Also wondering if we're intentionally showing off our skills in hosting big rugby games 🤔 cough cough WR, who's hosting after the US?]
