I had learnt something about compression testers. On my 130, I got an even 120 PSI across the board (from a cheap HF compression tester) A couple months later, I had found my “better quality” one in the garage. Re-tested my compressions, on only a slightly warmed engine 175-180 Psi across the board. Don’t cheap out on compression testers, like I did 😀

Not small GA planes, but ATP jobs you generally will fly 800+ hours a year.

Because it was after airworthiness and initial install. This already had a 40 hour fly off over 500 hours ago. This was not a “major” change and doesn’t require it.

Yes, we also tune for longevity not max output.

We do not use shell. We use as suggested by the engine. Usually 0w-20 synthetic or some of ours are 5w-20
