I made this cake with a Eggnog frosting (instead of a glaze) and took it to our son’s home for Thanksgiving dinner. I cut a thin slice to see how it tasted before serving it to the family. Oh My Goodness ~ I was ready to pack up my cake and take it back home and not share! This cake is absolutely Divine❣️My husband says this one is his favorite. Two weeks ago his favorite was the vanilla pound cake. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I used to write methods and procedures (M&Ps) when I was working; and no matter how specific I was in where to find the information I would ALWAYS get someone calling to ask how to do something. Donna, thank you for being a baker to the want-to-be bakers. For years I have baked pound cakes. Some are successful, some not so successful. Some rise high, some low. More recently I thought creaming butter and sugar too long (3 minutes) was the problem. Thank you for repeatedly emphasizing the importance of the creaming process.

What I’ve done is witched to using a scale when measuring flour. I measure in grams. One cup is 120 grams. Try it and see the difference.

THANK YOU‼️ I made this cake yesterday, and just tried a slice today. It was absolutely delicious the favor was perfect, moist, not heavy. I used Southern Confort Eggnog from Sam's Club. I made as a long loaf cake to slices along with cookies, peanut brittle and assorted chocolate covered pretzels to give to family and friends for the holidays.
