I just bought one of these, and I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised at the power and performance of this model. It cut my hedges with ease. The blades are nice and sharp and the unit does not bog down. I love it.

Thank you for the great review. I just bought the ego lawn mower last year and I absolutely love it and was looking now for a hedge trimmer and was debating between this and the Dewalt

this thing is a beast. I was extremely impressed with it. charged from fully dead battery in roughly 45 minutes. it didn't slow down once. cut right through everything I threw at it. PLENTY of POWER!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the l real world review. I kept finding all those animated dry-erase white board review videos. Those don't show what I really need to know about a product in actual use cases.

Nice to see more and more cordless lawn care products coming out. I wonder how long until Milwaukee gets in on it

Can you use 3 in 1 OIL on this Hedge Trimmer???
@kurt.wilkinsongardendesign7 жыл бұрын
Couple of things to consider. This is a brand new machine and the blades are razor sharp as well as the battery at its maximum. This is as good as it gets. Any piece of crap cheap hedge trimmer will cut what was cut in this video. The true test for a trimmer is under load cutting a dense hedge. If it is able to cut smoothly in this situation it should be ok. Having said that the presenter did a great job doing the video so respect. I am a professional hedge trimmer and would never use this machine or similar design whether battery or gas powered. An articulated head hedge trimmer is all I would use.

Have you ever had any problems? Have the batteries lost potency? I want the lawn mower and the hedge trimmer but I really don’t trust electric tools. This looks really cool tho
@XanafiedcatGaming3 жыл бұрын
@@DavyDave1313 the mower was my first EGO product and I had my doubts about going to electric too but so glad I did. my oldest EGO battery is over 3 years old and it still lasts as long as it did when I first got it. the 56V 2.5Ah EGO battery will last about 35 minutes with the mower and the 56V 7.5Ah will last over 90 minutes with the mower (how long a battery charge lasts will depend a little if you are using the self-propelled EGO mower. I mostly use the self-propelled feature for tough hills). another nice thing about the EGO mower is it fold up making it extremely easy to stand it up and clean underneath around the blade without having to worry about gas or oil leaking out of caps when the mower is in a different position. EGO makes high quality products that will last in my experience with them. since I hate the heat and have horrible flat feet I want a product that is efficient at it's job and easy to maintain. now I have 3 EGO batteries, the blower, the trimmer, two EGO mowers and plan to get the hedge trimmer next. EGO products are worth it.

I would have liked to see it used fast on a denser hedge.

Like always great review. I saw the echo cordless at HD but still not sure if I'm ready to make the switch and want to see if anyone complains with any battery issues first because I still think they won't last very long just sitting around all winter and some in the summer.
@RealToolReviews9 жыл бұрын
Eric DuPlantier Thanks! Yeah it would boil down to how much someone is planning to use them.....I think for milder climates where lawn maintenance is a year-round thing, they would be ideal. Or, if they expand into snowblowers for example, the batteries can be cross-compatible & you really could use them year round.

Really sweet machine. Its always nice to not drag around a cord or smell those fumes. I'm still a little skeptical about battery powered equipment though. I'm so used to gas everything.
@RealToolReviews9 жыл бұрын
Love2boat92 Thanks! These hedge trimmers last an unreal amount of time....I guess moving blades back and forth dont take nearly the amount of power of a chainsaw (for example).....for any landscaper, I would put these in the "must have" category.
@Lanninglongarmmowing9 жыл бұрын
Real Tool Reviews No problem. I know my Milwaukee hammer drill and impact driver last a long time so if this outdoor power equipment has bigger batteries and is lithium they would be compareble to gas.

What about charging the battery on this unit ? 😨
@nfavor6 жыл бұрын
No mention of stand alone battery cost? I looked at the Ego equipment and the battery prices a high enough that you'll be tossing the tool once the battery goes bad. You always could buy several Ego products in order to purchase batteries in a more cost effective manner, but I chose not to support them due to their battery prices.

Ok, so what is the final verdict - Does it have as much power as gas trimmers like the Echo HC152 or the Sthil HS 46? Other than run time, noise level, mixing gas, carb maintenance, etc.. that everyone mentions in their video, how is its actual cutting performance compare to a gas hedge trimmer? Can I get the actual trimming done as fast as I can with a gas trimmer? Gas and battery trimmers seem to weigh about the same - is there a fatigue factor?
@RealToolReviews9 жыл бұрын
Jeff Huguelet I have owned gas trimmers in the past & not liked them specifically for the reasons you listed. I have no experience with the two models that you mentioned, so I really could not say. I will say that it was plenty powerful enough to do everything I tried with it & did not need to take a break due to fatigue.
@feidex9 жыл бұрын
Nice video I beginning I think that it will not have much power but when I saw how well it works I was very surprised of the power and I think that it lasts a long time notably that no one uses it every day and because EGO make a high quality stuff so I think that it is worth getting and how long you got a runtime of it
@RealToolReviews9 жыл бұрын
MP 10000 $ Thanks! I agree....EGO makes some nice tools!

Too bad. I'd really like to upgrade to this trimmer. I have several bushes for which I must use a ladder to trim the flat top. To reach across the top of the bush I must have maximum reach by using one hand. Were I to purchase this trimmer, which for safety requires two hands on the tool, I would not be able to reach the areas I can with my one handed tool. It's not a question of battery operated or not. My current hedge trimmer is a B&D battery operated tool. It's just getting old after 8 years of regular use. Is it possible to wrap the front green switch with tape so it is always depressed, or does the tool require that both switches are released between uses?
@ZachGelnett5 жыл бұрын
Just use a zip tie for the front switch (but if you hurt yourself it's not my fault...)

Will you be doing any reviews on any of the Milwaukee hand tools buy any chance? I have a few and think they are well built. I would like a comparision between them and like knipex, wera, klien etc. Love the videos! Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask :)
