Good thing that anime Ego explained why he picked all of them for their positions. Funny thing is that, with the lone exception of Isagi, all others non-top 6 Blue Lock players picked were assigned the role of team defenders: the goalkeeper, 2 centerbacks and 2 fullbacks.

Plot twist : Sae Itoshi wanted Isagi from the Blue Lock. But Ego refused. Instead he proposed them Shidou as the best player he could give them ( Rin and Sae are meant to play one another so Rin was out of the bargain). Remember who was playing live when Sae felt suddendly interested in Blue Lock... Ego and Sae spotted Isagi's potential from the start. He is Ego's favorite piece of the puzzle

This looks like a 4-1-4-1 formation with insane offensive capabilities, how would they translate to a team of professional players irl? My thoughts: GK: Gagamaru (reflexes and reaction - someone like Iker Casilias?) RB: Chigiri (speed and defense - Alphonso Davies seems like a good choice) CB: Aryu (height domination and interception - i would guess either Maldini, Puyol, or Thiago Silva?) CB: Niko (Vision of field and launching counter attacks - LB: Bachira (Dribbling abilities - I go for Marcelo, if he's in a different position then it's a different story) CDM: Karasu (Ball retention and possession - Sergio Busquets is the only one i can think of) LM/LW: Yukimiya (One-on-one dribbling - Neymar) RM/RW: Otoya (Speed and stealth - hmm i have no clue for that one, Di Maria? Bale? George Best?) CAM: Nagi (ball control - prime Ozil would be sick af) CAM: Isagi (field adaptation and adaptaion - Muller or Kroos) ST/CF: Itoshi Rin (Core of team, goal machine, smooth flow - Del Piero or Lewandowski maybe?) One of the rules was that if you were the top scorer of your team, you would be allowed to stay in Blue Lock. After getting his ass handed to him by Isagi, Niko went on to dial up some lock in and start moving for himself and discovering his own ego, leading him to score more. So when it came time for his team to leave, Niko was plucked out, thrown into 2nd selection, and ended up passing that too, which is how we got here
