I have a ton of ego equipment. I have 12 batteries of multiple sizes. This thing is a beast. I use it for power outages. It even runs my furnace too!

Nice. Yeah, it's a great tool if you already have the batteries. I wish more tool brands would do this.

How long does it take to get fully charge ?
@Scouten819 Жыл бұрын
this thing is the best for charging batteries since its not a rapid brute force solution the slower charge is better on the cells. the kit with the x2 7.5ah was perfect for me since i got it on sale and i now have more than enough batteries to run all of my ego tools. excited to get the 2 stage snowblower later this year and already have all the batteries i'll ever need.

Yeah, I wish all tool lines would come out with a power station for their batteries so we can use the batteries we have. I have a lot of Ridgid tools and batteries, but no power station for it. EGO did this one very well.

My understanding is that if you have a rapid charger, you can rotate the batteries onto the charger and have continuous charging and power. Yes???
@stevemellinger37762 жыл бұрын
Also, I thought the unit came with 4 7amp batteries, not 4 5amp batteries for $1,500.

You can remove a battery why still using the power station, but you decrease it's load ability of course. As long as you are not maxing it out it should be fine.

Mine has 5AH batteries. Is there one that has 7AH? I have not seen that one.

How many weeks or months does the batteries last do you have to change the batteries every 3 0r 4 months
@SeidelRanchReviews Жыл бұрын
You mean if they are not used? They last longer than that if they are not used. Lithium batteries hold their charge really well for a long time. I would guess maybe a percent or so per month. I can't say for sure though because they get used often.

Did anyone have a plastic film that peeled off the screen surface of this unit when unboxing? I can’t tell if mine didn’t have one or if it’s just still on there. Didn’t want to go digging away on it if not.
@SeidelRanchReviews Жыл бұрын
I think mine did but it should be obvious that it's on there. Like it should have a tab or something. Don't scratch it all up trying to get it off because it may already be gone or did not have one to start with (speaking from experience).

If the company would take my advice: How about having a separate mechanism to charge the batteries, so that if, for example, you have four more batteries, then unit would be used to recharge four while four are in operation. Would also do much better if it could charge all four batteries at the same time.
@SeidelRanchReviews2 жыл бұрын
I totally agree. Charge all 4 at the same time. Sure, it will take a little larger power adapter maybe, but time to charge is pretty long. Or even allow more power adapters to be plugged in. Like have 4 power adapter plugs.
@henthust97842 жыл бұрын
@@SeidelRanchReviews Exactly. That would still make a huge and positive improvement.
@stevenreichertart Жыл бұрын
I see the company makes a separate charger for the batteries. And you can buy more batteries of course.

Lead Acid technology from the 1930's ?
@SeidelRanchReviews2 жыл бұрын
I am pretty sure they are lithium, but I agree they could have come up with a much better design. I think the point on this setup is to allow the batteries to do more than just mow the grass. I hope they do more with this to make a better device. I wish other companies would do this with their tool batteries. Power banks are becoming more of a necessity.

Unless you are deep into the ego eco system of yard tools, this is junk. Power brick Adapter should be built into the unit with a simple port to plug in a simple extension cord.
@SeidelRanchReviews2 жыл бұрын
I do have other ego stuff, so in that part it's helpful. I totally agree with you on the power plug being built in. It's bulky enough to have that built in. I also think they should have made it charge faster. 120v power at 1.5 amps is pretty slow if you have more power available.

Yeah Iv quickly got over the need for the actual unit to charge more rapid. Trickle charging the battery is always better for the longevity of the batteries. The only beauty behind the ego inverter is the ability to hot swap batteries while the unit is powering the device your trying to keep running. So if you have more than 4-6 ego batteries, as the batteries deplete you can swap a partially empty battery with a full battery and never have to power the unit down. As long as you have a backup power source to charge the battery. I have a small 1k watt propane generator that I can disconnect the propane from my bbq grill run the generator with an ego rapid charger and quickly charge 4 batteries in around an hour to run the ego for multiple hours and conserve the fuel longer. But if your not in the ego system there are better inverters that you can plug in external power into the inverter without having to turn it off.

Sounds like you're just making a random video without all of the information, this is not cool. TRY LEARNING about the device first before making a video
