I had a model older than this one that I love. My sister has difficulty with tools that are too heavy and she actually loved mine and found it easy to use kzbin.infoUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG . This is a newer model but was even lighter which she really appreciates. She enjoys it and I no longer have to go to her house to trim as she can handle it fine. Haven't used it enough to comment on the battery life but lithium batteries last longer than the old style. Being cordless makes it easy to trim the far edges of the property. The entire yard can be trimmed with one charged battery.

I bought one a few days ago & literally weed wacked my waist tall weeds in my back yard, lol. I have a small urban yard, maybe 50 X 50 and it took me 3 days. The battery only lasted about a quarter of my lawn each night I wacked coz the weeds were so thick. But it did the job and didn't use much line at all.
@davidburden23603 жыл бұрын
how much weight gms?
@lawnporn3 жыл бұрын
Not sure. I’ve never measured it but it is very light. The main weight comes from the battery. The 2ah is very light and obviously the 10ah is probably a bit too heavy.

@lawnporn4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. With this one no but they have a multi tool power head and a range of attachments. Works with the same battery.
@crimmy02045 жыл бұрын
I use the full carbon shaft model and it is probably the best "tool" I've ever used, done lots of videos. they have defective trigger mechanisms. But even with that they are still great, the trigger lets off but I can spin it up again nearly instantly, and it only really messes me up on long edging sections. Hopefully it lasts a long time for me. I recommend using Y line in it, makes it about 4x louder but actually creates lift allowing cuts at lower speeds. I own 2 fold up models like this one but they annoy me as they are heavier, and always ship with the head not perfectly aligned on the shaft. so if you can deal with a slightly annoying trigger issue, a head the spins the wrong way compared to commercial trimmers, get the full carbon shaft model, it costs a bit more but it's amazing if it can last a few more years. way more efficient than the power heads.

I wanted to like the EGO Trimmer. I have the blower and I'm going to buy the mower soon. But I bought the trimmer last year and it seemed great. But, ergonomically, it did not feel comfortable in hand at all. It was lopsided because the battery weighed its side down.. I couldn't get comfortable with it. But EGO is a great line. After I returned the EGO trimmer I purchased the DeWalt 20V trimmer because I have a ton of other DeWalt 20v tools. That one felt better in hand than the EGO. BUT I was not a fan at all of the bump stock feed. It would quickly jam up or would not come out. I quickly returned that too. Before I tried those two trimmers out I'd been using a Black & Decker 36V Lithium trimmer. It's smaller and doesn't use a bump stock feed. It automatically detects when the line has gotten too short. I continue to use that to this day. I think I would buy another B&D once mine dies ... or maybe give the EGO another try. I would have to catch it on sale.

I own 9 of them... they are expensive sure, but my full commercial gigs burned thousands of dollars in gas a year, where I can put ego tools in a volvo station wagon that gets 29mpg, my cost of operation a day is just under $10.00 cad with lunch. in canada off peak hours its 6 cents a kw/h so I can charge up 50ah for like 30 cents. which would = around $10-$15 in gas.... it adds up fast. The best part being the fact I don't have to huff gas fumes all day.

After a few months the powerload stopped working Can't find a way to hand load. EGO is the Worst Company Ever - they will repair under warranty but will take 200 miles and four hours of driving. It takes hours and hours to reach them on phone, and they don't follow thru. I deeply regret buying the trimmer, hedge trimmer and blower from them, committing to their battery. Worst Company Ever!
