Can you use the effects from egoist to apply to the sound coming from the host app (ex. BM3) or does the effects only work on the sound within the sampler on egoist?

Hey I have a question. I am blind and I'm trying to figure out how to use my midi keyboard with funk drummer my midi keyboard works on everything except for funk drummer please if you can help me out. Because I want to use it on GarageBand there are other ads with drum sounds that I am able to control it with the keys but not funk drummer. I don't know where to switch it so I can control it please help me out
