Maybe one cool Feature would be a Shipdesigner to create custom Ships without having to modify your savegame? I think if its well balanced it might be a fun Experience for everyone and it could add more possible research stuff at the HQ and a Design Office at the HQ. It could be done with modular Parts and you can choose the materials for the Hull etc. so They can be balanced as well with these stats cause every material has specific weight and volume and you need too add different components to make it work. For example you can decide to add 4 Shield Bays but the generator you have to build in generates a specific ammount of power so you have less energy for weapons or engines in case of 4 M Shield slots. And every part of the Hull you add gives some space for modules like weapons but also adds some weight. And more weight means you need to add more thrust with a limited generator. And if you decide to add a second generator to the design you have to reduce the number of other modules cause of the limited space inside the hull. And you could add an Design office to the HQ that gives more depth to the Player HQ besides additional research for these kind of modules and hull design parts. Edit: you could also add the Research of the different Design philosphys by reverse engenieering Ships of different Factions that would provide you Hull Parts and internal modules. Progressing through different Levels of the Research would require a specific amount of reverse engineered ships and added materials and it would add different Design Parts and internal Stuff and it could be splitted between S/M and L/XL and Station Parts so even players who are focused on pirating can get the Modules and Designs for their own Shipyards over time by Raiding.

If one of my ships(pilots) is attacked I can not press F -> "show me your position" or "teleport to" , would really love to see that. (or free configurable shortcuts) Also would like to see that I can shopping some products while sitting on my ship without using mouse (simple/clean table with a cool hologram with a small touch of 1999 x:BtF - I know it sounds simple but it has an immersive feeling) Really love your game, really appreciate it. have a beautiful Day!

X5 when? Or there would be more DLCs for X4?
@virkfulsarchive
@virkfulsarchive 6 ай бұрын
@@efxnews4776each X series can last for like 10 years, slightly a bit early to ask for X5, maybe 2028 would be a more proper time or unless they have some extreme technological breakthrough that a newer version would be needed, if X5 is made with not much difference from X4, than there's really no need of X5. Other than that, I think there are a lot of players just waiting and waiting for improvement on AI behavior. 1. Majorly on economy holes(NPCs properly adjusting buy price for their resource needs). 2. Combat behavior that ships don't fight like idiots but proper dog fighting and diving behavior.

Are we overlooking the debacle, lies and accusations that Egosoft made post-release of Rebirth, then? they screwed the fanbase over right royally and then blamed the same fanbase for it - if it weren't for modders, Egosoft would likely have collapsed. They WERE a great company but in my eyes, they lost that title when they pulled a fast one over everyone.

Yeah these guys tend to go on forever, however slowly - and I love the end results really, at least, with X4 it became one hell of a game - hard to get into, but I did, and if my previous PC's processor had a better clock speed, given the limits of the engine, I was going to do a LOT more with mods that I just couldn't... still, amazing game... X4 has everything it needs to turn into something much greater, and Egosoft ... who knows WHEN they'll stop? Maybe around the time X5 is developed - I'm in no hurry, I have a lot to do in X4, and my failing PC has been preventing me - got all the parts I need on order, though!

I'm not usually a big fan of single player games. In fact I almost exclusively play multiplayer games. However, after having played Starfield and realizing it wasn't anywhere near as deep as I was looking for and with Star Citizen still in very early development. I decided to try this game. I had never played any of the other games in the series and well needless to say I was absolutely blown away. I've already sunk in over 80+ hours into my first playthrough and I fully intend to spend several hundred hours into this game for the next several months. Egosoft has made me a fan for life. Good job guys!

Hi there. I'm an X-Veteran since the early 2000s. Over the years I had very good and sometimes frustrating moment when it comes to this game series. I'm starting with X2. It was and still is a very very good game. The implementation of the Kha'ak was a blast. Nothing was more fun that blowing these little critters to high heavens. No talk just shoot. The storyline was great and I played it a couple times just because the main story is so good. I had really bad experiences with the Discoverer at first but I always managed. I usually played with Argon ships and later on tried all the other races. It was fun... X3... uhhhh. The graphics improved. A LOT!!! The new station building ate a lot of time and the storyline was again great. I had the most fun with TC but hated their big stations and the collision models. It improved over time but I never felt really happy with the Terrans. Nevertheless a very good experience. I started a little late with X4. I took a break from gaming and started in 2020. By that time some of the early game bugs were already solved and I started with fresh on a new computer. An OH BOY... I needed a new one. Again.. the graphics improved very very hard. The storytelling still is a little short but more and more DLC's are coming and it's a lot of fun. My biggest minus point is the complicated ship menu. It was somewhat easier in 2 or 3. In X4 it appears a little too much. Managing bigger fleets is a nightmare for me and you spend a lot of time on the map menu. That is my only real point of critique so far and I'm certain you guys will do some magic in that area when you have the time. I was much easier to assign freighter fleets to you complex stations an the sector trading is pretty much useless at first. The universe needs to grow a little before you should go this way. That's my two cents on the matter. Thanks for the updates guys.

I hated when this was the norm starting in Rebirth. Would love to play the game fully with camera views as we did in X3, with the ability to just see space and a little UI, No cockpit blocking your view, no having to walk around with a character. The X series really is the best (non mmo) space IP!

I can wholeheartedly suggest X4 to anyone and everyone. Such an awesome game, thanks Egosoft! I feel like more external camera functionality would be good for a number of players, but I personally love the immersion of being in 1st person as you described :) Proper multiplayer would be amazing. I think I get why it's something Egosoft have not delved into, but rather than try to host anything on their side, make a multiplayer option that had to be hosted by one player (or on a server spun up by said player) and their friends join the hosted session, that would be amazing. There were 6 of us on my Discord all playing X4 at the same time recently, but of course we were all separate. Something I think would be a cool focus is more on-foot gameplay. For example, add more corridors and rooms to large ship internals and allow the player to physically board another ship with his/her marines. I know these two game mechanics have been mentioned literally thousands of times before though, I'm far from the first 😂

Looking farwards to more x4! My Wishlist: 1. A more fleshed out player owned sectors: allow/disallow factions enter, mine, trade or build. 2. Paying your staff, F.eks 10 credit for 0-1 star 50 for 1-2 star 100 credits for 3-4 and 200 for 5 star. And the payment could be per ingame hour. It dose not need to be alot. But it will add up when you have a big fleet. This will force the player to not spirle out of controll after getting a shipyard and just flood all the sectors with player build ships. And just paint the galaxy green with out any problem. Paying rent on station to the factions that own the sector, so if you own sectors and allow other factions to build in player owned sectors you wil get the rent from other factions building in your sectors.

A few Ideas... 1.) allow 3rd person while controlling the on foot player, the same as already exists with ships. 2.) Add space suits and helmets to npc's when "outside," simply for immersion purposes.. 3.) Have the marines on board large ships holding weapons or at least have holstered weapons. Just a re-skin. Make them look more like space soldiers. 4.) Add a seat for the player behind the pilot in a few of the fighters when they are a passenger when there is room to. Im addicted to this game... have been an X fan for years. Great work on such an amazing game.

I don't think there's actually animations for crouching and jumping. You can see crouching just lowers your character down if you wedge yourself into the front of a cockpit and go into third person. Animation overhaul, updating from the ancient middleware modders can't interact with, would be great though

But... they aren't space soldiers. You paid people you found wandering around a pittance, stuck them in boarding pods with MAYBE a day's worth of training, and sent them off to attack similarly trained "soldiers." If you give them guns, give them paintball guns - that's probably about the level of combat going on in X4 ship boarding battles. ;)

Big features 1. Wars - I thought you could already do war with other factions? Claim a sector of space, build a shipyard, harvest resources, attack others 2. External cockpit view - I don't see how this is a big feature, I can change first person to third person in a C++ game in a matter of minutes with just a few lines of code. If this will be the focus of next year, then meh :P What you should do- -1 World build, the universe feels lifeless and static -2 Incorporate advanced AI so that individuals can found their own empires, companies, and have their own wallets -3 Give the ability for a universe editor, so that someone can customise their own galaxy -4 Create a story for the kha'ak, they are seriously undeveloped, and feel like a nuisance placeholder. -5 Improve the graphics of the game, the graphics of the game as a whole is basically 2011ish x rebirth graphics, with the interior graphics of ships, stations, etc, being 2008. -6 If you won't do number two, then you should at least add some independent companies like OTAS, Plutarch, etc as potential adversaries to your corporate plans, rather than have a faction versus player.

Nettes Infovideo. Exploration on it's best.

Ansonsten bitte weiter so! :)

With 500 Hours in X4 and 400 Hours in X3 TC and like 200 in vanilla X3, I can say with certainty, that the X series is my favorite Game(series) ever. You have the Eve online experience without needing to be online, you have the Stellaris experience from the ships view and all the Citybuilding/Ressource Management Aspects of Games like Cliff Empire/Cities Skylines (Sim City lol). You can just walk around your ships and on Stations that you Design yourself!!!!!111 How Awesome is that!!. And it looks and Sounds like a 500 Million Dollar Movie! For the Endgame Crisis: I think it should be with one of the "Alien" Alien Races (Kha'ak/Xenon/Sohnen) I can already declare war on the Commonwealth Species if I want to some boost to their forces won't do anything to me, it would even hurt them because I'm pretty sure they buy the majority of their ships at my Shipyards and Wharfs. The whole Kha'ak M0 situation was something special and being blocked by the Sohnen from killing them off completely makes sense too. I know the Lore is sown sparsely for very good reasons, but there is still a lot you can do. The Kha'ak could have build an entire M0 Armada with their Jumpdrives, and the Xenon can realistically control large portions of the galaxy which is not connected by jumpgates. (And yes I know Xtended is a mod but their Sohnen ships where just dope in X3) The Sohnen are those silent 5D Chessmasters in the background you could easily write some Endgame Crisis around them (Player got to powerful and threatens their Race-cooperation experiment for example). It could literally be just another experiment of them to throw a hard challenge at you without it being some kind of pest control action (which you would logically not be able to win against anyways) I know it will be good regardless, for such a small German Game Studio you have always delivered. You are like the Noctua equivalent of Game Design (yes I know they are Austrian).

Great to hear there are plans for X4 extending years ahead! Currently, X4 is the best space game there is, all things considered. I do hope you will continue to improve on the graphics engine. AMD FSR 2.1 and/or Nvidia DLSS would be terrific. Even though fps often are limited by CPU, that is far from true in every scenario. And, in addition, X4 is in dire need of modern anti aliasing.

If you're "doing it right", you can't see the "poor graphics" because everything is "too far away", or there are so many things on screen, you can't stop to pixel hunt and find that the models are 2010s, not 2020s. The aim of this game is simulation, not graphical fidelity. Forza it is about graphical fidelity, not simulation. You don't get 200 cars on the screen and the crowd are not CPU controlled AI agents, because that game isn't for that, so the "spare capacity" from NOT doing that can be spent on graphical wow. AA being easier to do, for example, or working on space GPU cycles, not spare CPU cycles, DLSS/FSR2 helps IF it frees up CPU cycles for "better things".

Never really played a X game before, I picked up X4 like 2 months ago and I already have over 150 hours. I look forward for two things mainly, more optimization and more immersion. I'm using a mod that brings back a marine armor suit that wasn't used anymore and it looks really great. One suggestion I have for more immersion would be some scripted cutscenes of marines boarding depending on how successful they are and that would appear on the communication screen. It would feel like something in the lines of Total War Shogun 2 agent actions, which was a great immersive feature.

Exciting news. What I am really hoping for is some sort of AI solution because currently I feel like there is this uncomfortable gap in progression where the player is at the point where they need more ships as escort to complete more dangerous missions (like destroying Hives) but isn't yet at the point where they can easily replace lost ships so every casualty hurts a lot and the mission becomes unprofitable. Perhaps something like ships that are a part of the player's wing being able to utillize more complicated AI so that the universe does not suffer too much strain.
@markhackett2302
@markhackett2302 11 ай бұрын
Almost all the problems are pathing ones. There are oddities. The "Defend" role goes too far away from the defended ship. I've abused that against Xenon to kite them away from the K they are protecting so I can rush back to take out another gun, then run off and kite the returning "fighters" again. Rinse, repeat, kill the K. If defend kept CLOSE to the ship, sure I'd run off, regenerate my shields and come back as fresh as before. But I wouldn't be able to cheese the fighters away if some/all were set to "Defend" and let me leave. Same with exploding capital ships. Any ship (possibly apart from Xenon/Kaahk) on hearing "Explosion imminent" turns and runs away to avoid the explosion. Sticking around shooting at other fighters saves shields/hull against those fighters, but when the capital blows up, the shield/hull goes anyway. Boosting away costs shield, but an exploding capital will strip those shields anyway. If you could get your wingmen to defend you AND STAY NEARBY, you are the lead, the main target, but you can't get swarmed, because if they try, they get swarmed harder, all YOU have to do is avoid fire. If they split up to take out every fighter, you are a better pilot, so are "free" once you killed your attacker, to team up and annihilate one team mate attacker, then both of you take out another attacker, and again, and again, and again. If your defender is 100km away, it can't stop you from being swarmed, and if it is outgunned, you can't help them. Now what they are doing may be 100% what is intended. In which case there needs another command/role to do "close support".
@Avatarbee
@Avatarbee 11 ай бұрын
@@markhackett2302 I suspect that switching targets might be a expensive action which might be why ships tend to get hyperfocused on their targets so that they don't have to evaluate whether it's time to switch targets. I did not know that ships usually flee when there is about to be a explosion. In my experience they just blow up with the module/ship. One of my biggest gripes that I haven't mentioned yet is that ships seem to use the same AI no matter what size the ship is. So L ships and above will always try to boost and drain all their shields even though boosting does basically nothing. Makes their constantly regenerating shields super pointless.
@markhackett2302
@markhackett2302 11 ай бұрын
@@Avatarbee It'd be part of the decision tree, same as any pathing, in fact. It WOULD increase the time to traverse that tree to land on a decision, but so would having more orders, either you have to chop and change roles or roles mean "no orders" (because orders are made by roles) or have to have a bigger decision tree taking CPU cycles. I haven't written the game, so I completely know I don't know if the reason it isn't done is "well you can't do it with this design of the code". The ships don't flee. YOU do, when you pilot a ship that can flee, but the AI doesn't. IMO they should. Xenon don't care, they are an AI, not a living thing, and the Kaahk, though living, may like ants "sacrifice" warriors to save the colony. The role mostly defines what orders are issued. So Intercept means "Attack small fighters" irrespective of if it is a small or XL ship. Etc. What is different is you can't get a Behemoth main gun on a Nova. Nor can you fit a pulse laser to the main battery of an Oddy. So I'd count "different size ships" as no fundamental difference to "different loadouts". If Attack orders with Behemoth main guns does A and Attack with Pulse lasers does B, then it is the same as discerning on size. Except more flexible. A pulse fitted Nova is a very different ship to a plasma fitted Nova. A Nova attacking a fighter is very different from a Nova attacking a capital ship. InRe: L ship boost, yes, but I also don't think anyone other than the S class should EVER boost. L ships don't get much speed from it, but Ps (for example) get a lot of speed, but never manage to regen the lost shields by the time they got back into combat, unless I never bothered with attacking them, making boost irrelevant. So I'd say the default is Boost Off, but in combat "Boost" may be a pathing option, just never bothered with for L/XL class ships, almost never chosen for M class, and often chosen as a "Get Out of Dodge" option for the S class. Makes it redundant except "forbidding" means NOBODY can choose boosting, but it might be a requirement ALL the time, not just in the "Attack" order, and for Attacks, it should DEFAULT to off, it only "makes sense" for interceptors that want to make engagement happen at distance from more valuable assets, and that is a role thing, not an order thing. Again, IMO.

One thing I would wish above all else is a "re-acquaint with controls" feature. X4 has stayed with me for very long and is a game that I revisit once in a while. But the biggest hurdle is to remember what each button on joystick and thrust controller actually do. And the first time I enter combat, I should be able to pause the game and just go over the buttons for targeting, power distribution, wingman orders and such. The feature would simply be a screen and when I press a button, a message would tell me all things that button does. So that I could immediately practice the muscle memory and try out the workflors and decide if I should change it.

I've been saying for years, having planets/colonies play a bigger role would be really awesome. I know landing on planets etc. will probably not happen and that's not what I mean. I'd love for planets/colonies to be implemented in a much more abstract way, where they basically function as massive resource sinks or maybe some moons to mine raw materials for processing. Planets having a fluctuating population and abstract wealth score, depending how the player and other factions can supply them, being able to develop or colonize planets and extract some wealth long term. Build different buildings, factories, farms, entertainment, etc. etc. Something a bit like stellaris, endless space, or whatever other game, I think bringing some more 4X to X4 would be great. The immersive first person space flight/combat experience is great, but I personally fell in love with the X games for it's empire building mechanics and there hasn't been enough development in that regard imo.

I haven't played for a while, but I really love the end game challenges as a feature addition. I got to the end game, and it got just way to boring. I was looking forward to it the whole game, owning sectors, and multiple ship yards etc. Finally get there and it's like now I am overpowered, and there are no challenges, nothing to work toward, and that is when I put the game down. Would be cool to have a set of challenges which put you on the backfoot in the endgame. Maybe addition of dynamic events in the end game based off of player power. Or even through out the game, kind of how stellaris does it, large scale random dynamic events that disrupt the game flow.

- Faction-specific interior designs (it's quite hilarious to land on Boron station, get into the "stock" elevator, go through two sets of doors, one "stock" another Boron, into a Boron corridor, only to go through another two sets of doors, in the opposite order and into a "stock" manager's office) - CHAIRS for L/XL ships. I can't believe anybody would have their capital ship designed without as much as a place for the captain to sit on potentially days-long journeys. - NPC variety, especially in the hairstyle department (it's quite exasperating seeing half of the galaxy's population sporting a comically large afro)
