They should've just modded tf out of it with graphics enhancers, and vehicle updates, and released that. The modding community of gta sa ,vc, and 3 have put in more work and effort than rockstar ever did. This is off track but for example(and a recent example at that) Just look at Skyrim, Bethesda just re-released their game, with the top mods built by community members added in, released that, and bam, a 60 dollar game thats worth a fuck, that was built by dedicated players, for dedicated players. Take two, rockstar, and Grove Street gaming are really sleeping on the money they could've made, just by adding features, and not train wrecking their own product. Greedy fucks is what they are.

Then there's the fact that games are now released for download then updated with patches later... this makes developers lazy and sloppy. In the old days of physical game releases they had to get it right, you couldn't release something defective and release a patch after selling the product.

R* as we know it no longer exists post-RDR2. nearly no one that actually made it what it is is there anymore. it is now a shell of its former self.

I think porting w/ mods would be a better idea for both consumer and developer than doing an engine swap to Unreal Engine 4 while using AI to do all the work. The funniest part to me is this: After all the fancy bells and whistles that they attached to these games, the one single thing that I desperately wanted to see - rag dolling - wasn't included. I have GTA:SA installed on my hard drive with a rag dolling mod and it honestly makes the game about twice as fun. If they had included rag doll physics for all three games with the DE remaster, I would have paid happily without any complaints about any other bugs, even in spite of the awful state it was in at launch... But even with the bar that low, they still weren't up to the task.

Actually, most of the work wasnt done using just the AI upscaler. Grove Street Games outsourced most of the work to an Indian company called Technicolor. That's mainly the reason why there are so many typos in textures... and why Tommy looks Indian.

Many companies might crumble to bits because the people who made the company what it is, aren't there anymore ... Blizzard is more or less Blizzard in name alone to my understanding, the core, the people that made it what it is, are almost, if not all, gone and now look at it. While this might not be the case for rockstar ... maybe, they DID give the games to someone who DIDN'T work on them originally. Why? It's not even on THEIR game engines, it's on unreal. Again, why? Some people could see this like a sign that they don't care about their past games enough to bother doing it them selves or even use their own resources to make it.

Car companies don't sell cars that are full of major flaws, can't even be driven properly, and have major safety issues, and when people start complaining, they say they are sorry, and they go to you house and fix your car for free. I'm a big fan of the Red Dead Redemption games. Last December a bug was introduced to story mode where all the characters in your gang would tell you that you must be freezing in the outfit you have on. Even though your camp is in a southern climate in you have winter clothes equipped. The Gang would endlessly tell you to put on warmer clothes. This would happen in place of story dialogue they were supposed to say to you. This bug was a result of an update they patched into Red Dead Online. I reported this to Rockstar dozens and dozens and dozens and dozens of times. It was extremely frustrating completely immersion breaking and made hanging around the gang almost unbearable. The only response I ever got from Rockstar was "we are aware of the issue." It took them SIX MONTHS to fix this bug. Rockstar does not care about it's players or they're fans. What happened to the gaming industry? Like what actually changed since the 2010's for companies to care more about the revenue than the quality? It just doesn't make any sense to me. (I'm not the biggest gamer anymore so i could be wrong but) clearly companies have always wanted to make money from their creations but it seems they're way more happy to let the quality slide as long as they make a profit. Is it because of the economy and things are more expensive to create? Or is it a people problem? The moment I saw the trailer for this trilogy, my jaw actually dropped (not just figuratively) as I was appalled at what I was looking at and what the title was supposedly claiming. In that shot of Vice City next to the ocean/sea, I saw how saturated the colours were and I instantly knew that there was barely any human input on the textures. I instantly noticed the grass tiled across the ground and the tiling was so obvious I knew that nobody bothered to spend one minute applying a simple dirt mask to break up the tiling. Game devs know what I'm talking about. Same with the models - despite being "higher polycount" they still look absolutely abysmal. The games look worse than their originals because at least the engine and lighting 20 years ago and the quality of assets and textures matches and it was after all, a human effort.

I don't know if you remember Trip about one of my comment hyping GTA 6 on one of your old videos. It is still one of the most liked comments I have made on KZbin. But seeing this Trilogy release and how Rockstar/Take2 have handled it, I have lost all hope for GTA 6, or any future Rockstar game for that matter. (The cracks were already starting to show at the Take2 E3 showcase) The company and people that shaped our childhood are gone. It's a corporate money making machine trying to milk as much money from their fanbase as possible while also purposefully attacking the loyal fans who want the best for their game i.e. the modders. RDR2 is gonna go down in history as the last good game R* ever made, because it had passionate people like Dan Houser still working on it. No one with any sort of passion for making good quality games is left at Rockstar.

What Rockstar should have done is track down those wonderful human beings of Arcadia and make an offer one cannot refuse, lots of $$$. Then make a one off contract with them that will place them at lead developers with full decision making on how to develop and optimize their project. The game is launch and it is one of the best remaster ever made. In another parallel universe, that is how Rockstar treat dedicated die hard fans: offer them jobs and wealth in an instant, if they're good enough. In that universe cross studios collaboration is also a thing, so that huge game projects can be made without any single studio bearing the full weight of the project. In this universe however, best we can do is dream about the above universe.
