EGR Valve Disassembly and cleaning of the on Citroen C3

My C3 2006 with the same engine is displaying a EGR error on the display which doesn’t let the car pass the yearly inspection. I’ve disassembled everything and I have the EGR in my hands, now how do I clean it and make sure it’s working properly? I’m not good with cars but my stepdad is helping me! :)

Petite question , j'ai une Ford Fiesta 1.4l HDI de 68 ch (même moteur que 206 ) et je viens de changer la vanne EGR car ma voiture tremblait au démarrage et des à coups avec perte puissance et défaut ODB vanne egr gelée .Dois-je la passer à la balise. Pour calibrer calculateur ou autres . Car elle tremble encore au démarrage mais roule normalement. Merci pour ta réponse.

@@carsandfurious_ j'ai reparer ma voiture . C'était un 1 injecteur qui était h.s. les symptômes était tremblement au démarrage et perte de puissance (trou dans l accélération ).

Hi, when reassembling did you use the same old clamp to connect the iron hose with the egr? I did so and now it's leaking exhaust gas right there. Do you know if there is a clamp that can be screwed so it won't leak?

Hello, yes i used the same clamp. I don't know if there are any such clamp on the market. It has a particular shape. Did you tighten it too much? Check if it is deformed.

@@carsandfurious_ I think I would need a certain type of pliers to put it back together tight. Unfortunately I dont have these so it's a little bit loose on there now. Do you have a trick to put it back on there? Thank you :)

@@MrLK97 Yes! uses a "pincer" is a pliers to break from carpenter. I don't know if that's what you call it. with that you can gently close that strap. let me know !!

i reccomment not to do it because next time tou turn on the car in some you could display an engine check error due to the fact that the egr is not in the correct position

Take care not to drop the shim as you disconnect the EGR from the engine . . .some car accessory's sell grooved clamps like that on the steel pipe, similar to a jubilee clip,

@Still Awake nz WITH A PAIR OF PLIERS IT CAN BE PUT BACK ON FAIRLY EASILY. BUT A JUBILEE CLIP REPLACEMENT IS EVEN EASIER.
