The way it unfolds really reminds me of civ 4 where tracks moved slowly from simple sounds to adding complicated ones, it was almost like imitating human progression in music. I can sense a similar spirit here and it makes me happy.
@noaxhmr28 күн бұрын
Something i love about this soundtrack is how complex it sounds in the antiquity era. In civ6's ancient era almost every song sounds so simple and sometimes even boring, because they had to follow this "theme" of making the songs more complex as the game progressed. But here, you dont have to wait for the next era to listen to some bangers. After this i really want to see what y'all pulled off for the modern era soundtrack

@hlibushok28 күн бұрын
Hell yeah, the soundtrack is so back! And the best thing is that the Age system allows every culture's theme to truly shine since it doesn't have to build up through the eras. E.g. in Civ6 Egypt's ancient theme was quite boring with just one flute playing while the medieval theme didn't feel as Egyptian anymore because of the medieval instruments used. Now we can get a vibrant composition that also sounds distinctly Ancient Egyptian.
@HamThePharoah27 күн бұрын
@@hlibushok Flute complaints aside, Egypt is a culture that continues to exist to the present day, and the Civ 6 track inspiration is an instantly recognizable piece of music to pretty much every modern Egyptian and embodies the focus of Egyptian culture on cyclicality and agriculture really well. Even for this track on Civ 7, there are recognizable modern Egyptian dance themes all over the place juxtaposed with ancient Egyptian instruments.
@hlibushok27 күн бұрын
@@HamThePharoah Yes, but in Civ6 Ancient Egyptian music couldn't truly shine because of the formula they used for the era-specific themes: The Ancient theme lacked vibrancy because Civ6 tended to only use one or two instruments for ancient era music, while the Medieval version of the theme lacked authenticity because Civ6 always used the later medieval instruments including the European hurdy-gurdy for these themes.

@hlibushok28 күн бұрын
@@SebiSuper9mil 1. Sure. 2. Eh, I don't think there is much uniqueness about having a national automobile industry. 3. Seems like a weird choice since the Sudetenland fortifications didn't help them much, did they? 4. You forgot that each Civ in VI must also have a unique civilian unit and an associated wonder as well as a set of unique civics. Let's be real here, Czechoslovakia is not historically relevant enough to warrant representation in the Civ series. Bohemia, on the other hand, would make for an excellent civ - a powerful kingdom that played a pivotal role in European history. Considering we already had Poland and Hungary before, Bohemia is well within reach.
