Wow. Now that you mentioned gas, it is all beginning to make sense of what's happening in the region

Gas predominates. I'm sure one of the many geochemists who watch are channel may wish to gives us the reason. It strikes me the kerogen-type in the source rocks is gas-prone. I think it unlikely there were many liquids produced in a lower maturity state or we would have seen oil before now.

Absolutely, which us why closer to home makes so much more sense,

If governments offered a stable fiscal environment I would agree. The UK behaves exceptionally in the North Sea,.... and that's not in a good way.

Great point, i hadn't considered that!

Thanks. We hope our channel will be an interesting series of snapshots of the evolution of geological basin understanding as more and more data becomes available through ongoing exploration, appraisal & development. If you check out our playlists you can already see how basins like Guyana/Suriname and Namibia are evolving. More to come if we can get support........

Could the profits from this oil and gas have provided a motive for provoking a Palestinian terror attack and using it as a pretext for greatly reducing the Gazan population and Gazan claims for royalties?
@TROVE-1stSubsurface8 ай бұрын
Some will say we know some technical aspects of oil and gas. We find politics an enigma. I suspect the Gaza situation is driven by bigger issues than future oil and gas revenues - different ideologies etc etc

ADNOC wanted to buy into the Tamar field & aphrodite prospect with BP but I expect that's on hold for now........

How quickly change affects this region. Sadly.

@@TROVE-1stSubsurface long term I'm optimistic, whether Iran, or Hezbollah organized this independently (not likely), Hamas will probably realize soon that they have been played like pawns. Furthermore, if the judicial reforms don't end with politics choosing all the laws then in time the future can be positive.
@TROVE-1stSubsurface11 ай бұрын
@@22terrytibbs we try and avoid straight politics. Suffice to say the population of Palestine & Israel would both prosper more by collaborating - but I recognise, sadly, there are MAJOR grievances.

Great prospects in the East Med but huge political risks. Better the devil you know, the North Sea.

We are increasingly hearing the term "above ground risk" used. Sadly some parts of the world are prone to volatility. Some argue the incessant UK fiscal changes are equally volatile for the E&P business.
