Lovely. Bastet is and always has been the sweetest Goddess the world has ever known. She creates kittens, which are nature’s reminder to nurture the spirit of softness and curiosity. Bastet is also the embodiment of mystery and self respect; an independent feminine power who chooses her own destiny and roams the night without fear. Not only practical and necessary for public health, the cat requires little from the human in order to survive and functions as a stress relief therapy animal who blesses their chosen human with soothing vibrations of love and will curl up on laps reminding those who work hard to practice self care. There truly is no better Goddess than Bastet. Meow 😻

I didn't know anything about the Egyptian cat god. However, once I had a dream of this Cat God statue. She was in front of the entrance of a small wooden house, and hard rain was falling. In front of her, the water was flooding, and it looked like she was not safe. All my life cats have been important companions. I watched this film with nostalgic feelings. Thank you for your journey. May all cats and all animals live full life on the earth.

My cat may not be the brightest crayon in the box, but she definitely knows when I'm sad or need a friend, and never fails to groom and cuddle me. That could be interpreted as psychic, or is she just really good at reading my body language? I cam definitely understand why they were worshipped. ❤ Very well put together documentary, thank you for sharing!

It almost seems like Bastet became a goddess of the hearth home and heart as her worship became less about status and more about the spiritual aspect of guardianship via cats. 🐈 perhaps her statues became more of a worship of cats 🐈 due to her buildings of worship being taken down and destroyed Kind of like “meh we don’t need temples and statues because we have her spirit living amongst us via our cats 🐈‍⬛, cats became her status of worship.. there for all cats became sacred. Embody flesh and blood living animal.

I have always been of the opinion that the Egyptians didn't worship the cat, they venerated it...and then created a goddess to look over it's welfare. Ancient Egypt was considered the "storehouse of the Mediterranean", with other civilizations (esp. Rome) relying Egypt's resources of grain. Even the Pharaoh paid his workers...not in gold, but in "bread and beer." This currency required vast amounts of grain to create; a wonderful environment for mice and rats. It's my not-so-scholarly opinion that the alliance between man and feline was facilitated by the need to protect Egypt's storehouses, palaces, temples and homes from those pesky vermin...that the "extermination system" was attractive, largely independent (and purred) only sweetened the deal. That cats appealed more to the common folk than to the royals just make sense...

with the greatest of respect , there are some very major things you have left out Basset was actually a Thracian Merchants Daughter was a priestess he took her ot egypt , she was returned to thracia when she died , there is a place were she is buried think north greece or south bulgaria ,, saying jesus is not right , its yeshua , you would not call a Pharaoh by there wrong name so why with yeshua , the letter j was invented in 1524 the king james bible is a masonic bible , how do you think the 1 % control the 99 %
@IFFB714
@IFFB714 2 ай бұрын
Yeshua is a 5000 year old Israelite SOCIAL CONTRACT.😂 The Israelites took inspiration from the Epic of Gilgamesh and, created Christianity from it. Mankind is thousands of years older than God. One of the reasons why people believe in God so much is, Christianity is a program that's been programming the weak minded for the last 5000 + years. That's why most religious people, aren't opened minded enough to consider for just one minute that God might not be real.

While a nice video, it could have been so much more informative. Ex. Egyptians didn't worship cats, per se, but honored them as the earthbound representatives of a deity. It would have been interesting to hear HOW this 'worship' was undertaken instead of simply being told it happened (or didn't).

In English, Bastette is a female with no parents (Shakespeare). Bubastis may have evolved in English to be Bastard which means male with no parents. Jesus was an abandoned birth. In Roman Catholic the Angel Gabriel was the father of Jesus. Joseph stepped in as step father. So maybe Bubastis was a city or place built for those who had no parents. Love these documentaries.

Why do domestic cats have eyes like a reptiles, but lions and cheetahs etc don't?
@clicheguevara5282
@clicheguevara5282 3 ай бұрын
It has to do with night vision. Smaller and mid sized cats hunt in the dark far more often than the larger cats, so their eyes evolved to be able to take in more light. Because their eyes are so sensitive, their pupils shrink when exposed to bright light and then expand to the normal circular shape under low light. It's night time right now and my cats both have normal, round looking pupils. ..but if I turned all the lights on, they'd shrink up and look like reptile eyes.

so many different pagan religions (I am pagan btw) in the old days would sacrifice animals to the God or Goddess that they followed. Cats to Bast, dogs to Hecate. I really never understood that. from my point of view if I was a goddess and Loved a specific animal I would be very Wrathful should any one murder it let alone in my name in an attempt to please me. so this makes no sense to me.

That’s not a cat. They worshipped hyenas. They were savages against people who protected lions. This is why the sphinx was shaved to look like a cat. That’s what actually happened. At that time some people worshipped birds . That’s how other tribes came about. It’s all in their hieroglyphics and enscribings. This is what evolved into a higher power belief that eventually evolved into the religious values we have today.
