I saw this game life at magics stream, and yeah he was aware of what is coming thats why he splitted all his villagers around and buildings too. The only thing that surprised him how many elephants batu had so fast, thats why he used frost there

Probably a one trick pony lmao. He saw the hirdmen, he lost his first wave of elephants to it, and still pushed and lost the game. batu didn't even try to counter the hirdmen.

@@leoleo1035 because it was over. His game strategy is to rush myth, hitting hard with 3 godpowers and end the game with an elephant push. He had 1 against 2 tcs, was down 30 villagers in the end. So it was simply lost after loosing the momentum (especially because of the frost godpower from magic)

Where are all the AOM players coming from? I had hoped some from SC like korean players would dip their hands into AOM, but the popularity of this game probably isn't there. Watching how SC2 champions manage their macro and micro put these tops AOM players to shame. Badly executed strategies, no micro, and this is coming from a game where most of the units' active ability is hardy impactful and can be autocast. SC2 players sacrifice their units just to get a scout on the enemy base to ADAPT to their units and pre-emptively counter them by researching counter units and tech, control groups of 5-6 different units and supportive abilities like protoss shields, land+air kiting... While in AOM you see someone fail with using 1 singe unit mass elephants and their response is to... create more elephants and the exact same building also produces chariots.

You are comparing two different games. First of all Star Craft had a lot more spotlight than Aom which means a lot more people got into the pvp scene and optimized the gameplay. Aom barely had 50 ppl online in pvp before Retold came around. Second, yeah, thats how rts games work, if someone spammed one unit only and one building they would had lost too, that's the reason why Batu lost. Remember, retold jsut got out and is being massively balanced in every patch.

Batu has too many good memories with this strat. If you look at Magic, though, you can see how someone should actually play AOM.
