Egyptians enjoy locally-grown succulent mangoes

It is mango season in Egypt, a time of the year that many Egyptians impatiently wait for.
The country's Ismailia city, famous for its produce, is sending the fruit to all corners of Egypt.
STORY-LINE:
Farmers in Egypt's Ismailia city are picking locally grown mangoes from farms, before sending the fruit in boxes to cities across the country.
Ismailia, famous for its mango farms, produces more than a dozen types of the fruit that is highly cherished by Egyptians.
Once the summer sets in, many Egyptians start looking forward to a refreshing snack of mango.
People either directly bite into the fruit or consume it as a cold juice.
This year's production does not seem affected by the coronavirus pandemic, nor the country's economic crunch.
Egypt is among the biggest exporters of the fruit, says Mohamed el-Banna, the general manager of al-Qosmy export company.
"The biggest importer of the Egyptian mango is Lebanon, followed by the Gulf countries and then Europe and Eastern Asia," he says.
Egypt's mango exports have risen to 15,211 tons, according to official figures shared by the ministry of agriculture in October of last year.
The mango season in Egypt runs from July to October and fruit stalls are filled with mangoes throughout this period.
The quantity of the fruit depends on flowering, which can be affected by heatwaves and sudden changes in temperature.
Mangoes were first introduced to Egypt from Sri Lanka.
Today, the fruit is a staple in in some Egyptian households throughout the summer.

As an Indian I was skeptics tasting then while there but they are really excellent but fibrous and too sweet. A Indian mango is much more complex in taste

I live in Dubai I got my Indian friends some Mango grown in this region , they really inpressed, the biggest disappointment I had when I was gifted a Japanese Mango called Miyzaki my friend was talking highly of it ....I didn't find any special taste and i checked the price it sells for 200$ per ONE.
