Wait is it me not understanding anything or does the original have pretty heavy classical indian music influence? I thought it was raag based and I thought it had many many technical elements to it.. I mean, there are many classical indian "riffs" in the original throughout.. I'm really confused now 😅

Those good old days of Hindi move on Saturday evening. There were no TV guides, no trailers, no promotions. So you would not no which movie was playing until the titles rolled. The names of the lead actors always came at very end just before the movie title. So anticipation used to build up as the titles rolled. Very nicely sung as usual.

I am also all and all Rafi Sahab fan. No need to force Rahul ji for mentioning superlatives for Rafi Sahab because no superlative is enough - Sooraj ko diya kya dikhana. I just fold my hand in awe and bow my head to Rafi Sahab - no words required. His music is true music because it transformed him as a human being and it transforms those who listen to him deeply. Very good attempt! A huge personal favorite...like, it's nation's favorite! 👏 I beg your pardon, you need to travel more on this song! This gem, though looking simple, has tremendous talent of Rafi Sahab, imbibed in it. Musically, it's so innovative : with the start of "antara" it's steep up and suddenly, by next line, it lands so soft and so cushioned by Rafi Sahab's heavenly voice and doesn't feel odd, at all. This kind partnerships of Shankar Jaikishan ji & Rafi sahab have produced eternal gems in plenty, like "ye mera prem patra padh kar..." & others! Now I come to the way Rafi Sahab used to embelish the lyrics with his special qualities!!! If one listens to his one word "mohabbat" in this song, one would be completely floored. It's rendered so layered, so soft, so drenched with love, with heartiest emotions, with heartfelt request about convincing the opposite character about this character's sincerity in love......uff..... utterly indescribable!!!! Then you come to "ud ud ke kahegi, khaak sanam...", again, simply heavenly rendered.....main to sajde mein hee hoon!!!
