Royal Enfield is hitting long balls out of the park, over and over. The Guerrilla, the Bear, and now the Classic 650! Falling in love with this company.

Mid 90's? The original Flying Flea is from the WW2 era.

I own a Super meteor 650, I absolutely love it. That Green classic 650 would look good sitting next to it in my shed.

Royal Enfield is dominating the game! Gorgeous innovative ideas, with extremely attractive price tags. I'll bet other moto companies are scrambling right now! Lol!!!

Yamaha... 20,000 for a scooter! Are you kidding me? Are you kidding us all? Or are you just kidding yourself?

Love the flea but hate the silly off centre rim spokes.

Bear is an ultimate motorcycle but for the essence of a classic old school motorcycle Classic 650 with twin exhaust will be more preferable over the bear i suppose
@bitey67094 күн бұрын
I like the way they've centrally mounted the instrument pod on the bear. Not a fan of some of their other eccentrically mounted examples.

Flying Flea C6 is what Surron and Talaria would be, should they be designed for the urban jungle from ground up. They are adapted dirt bikes merely to pass the L1e-B / L3e-A1 homologation. Obviously that means Royal Enfield has all the aces to impress in that market segment. Too bad it's yet another year until launch.

What is it with new electric bikes & 1930s girder front suspension?
@user-vy5uy9fo8pАй бұрын
weight reduction I am guessing
@devonbikefilmsАй бұрын
Girder forks are pretty good if they’re engineered properly, see Ariel or Britten.
@anandlakshmanan9708Ай бұрын
with the 650 super meteor and the classic 650 being 241 and 243 kg, the vulcan s 650 is 235kg. also there will be after market exhaust bieng produced for the classic 650 to reduce the weight as well. do not think that happens for the vulcan s

The Flea looks nice. But I am not a fan of faux tanks and cooling fins. They could be chopped for me for a simple curve panel. Why are many electric bikes (not scooters) seemingly scaled for children(!) not adults? ** What about an Interceptor sized e-bike next RE? ** Yes I know it is the Flea but......
@punyaslokaprusty3343Ай бұрын
They are working on electrics on RE Brand too Like the Himalayan But this Flying is a Commuter Only Light weight Sub Brand . I guess the equivalent cc ranges between 100 CC to 250 CC anything above that will under RE Branding

Alex, I wouldn't want to do your job having to talk about electric motorbikes and appear to be excited about them. I just can't find anything exciting or desirable about any of them. Plus, in the past few years, some electric motorcycle companies have already gone bankrupt and closed up. Royal Enfield isn't likely to do that with so many models in their range, but I can't see dedicated EV bike companies surviving. It lacks that electric motor start of the engine and rev up the engine and vibration, that when you remove them from the equation, it's just soulless. You might as well buy a bicycle or e-bike.
@BikeMattersАй бұрын
Trouble is they are exciting to a degree, but that's from a position of not owning one, and instead trying them out - in isolation they are extremely fun to ride, just a bit 'different' as you say. Small capacity electric bikes are still selling, mostly for use in urban environments, but you now see the bigger companies looking at 'multi pathway' futures that aren't solely reliant on an electric future. Clearly electric isn't ticking the boxes at a larger capacity! I certainly prefer petrol power for that soul and feeling, it can't be replicated.

I’ve driven an EV for three years now (Kia eNiro) it really is very good and most of what people spout off about them is based on received wisdom not actual experience. Battery technology is tramping on at hell of a pace for cars at the moment and it will spin off to bikes in due course. Me, I’ll take an EV over an Ice one every time for my car. The practical bikes are coming, give it another 2 to 4 years. They do exist (Energica, Zero) but they’re too expensive. Once RE and others get stuck into development, we’ll see that change rapidly. Oh, my bike is an Interceptor 650, it’s brilliant.
@billumandАй бұрын
Electric is gonna stick in places where people treat vehicle as utilitarian (family car, scooters). In scooters they’re already getting to dominate the market.

The classic 650 looks nice. But it's not really a aircooled engine. It's oil/air-cooled. And the electric...... Never for me!
@BikeMattersАй бұрын
Yeah, valid!

The aqua blue 650 classic looks a bit gay. I hope they don't expect many people to buy that color. I'm sure they will sell a few but I predict it won't be very popular. Some basic classic colors would sell better.
